He went to park his golf cart, and the cart got stuck in high gear and pinned him between his seat and a bar on his chest. He was life flighted out with the helicopter landing on the field of dreams pitch.

He is awake, with a punctured lung and two broken ribs. He is going to have surgery to see if there is any internal bleeding. Good to see the boys came through for him tonight and pulled off the win.

Hendersonville, please updae us on the status of Coach Plummer. He has impacted many young men in the

best manner. He is truly one of the good guys.

Coach Plummer had exploratory surgery to check for internal injuries and they expect he will be fine but not feeling good for awhile. Please keep him and his family in your prayers.

Had not heard he had broken ribs or a punctured lung. That might have been likely based on the circumstances but I have heard no confirmation of anything like that.

I heard that coach Russ Plummer (Hendersonville High School) was in a accident at Drakes Creek Park today.

I am not sure all the details but please keep him in your prayers. If anyone has details of his condition please share.

He was parking his flat bed gator and it got stuck in high gear causing him to get stuck under the bottom of the bleachers at the field of dreams, where the walkway is in front of the seats. The flat bed hit the bleachers and could not go any farther, causing it to bounce off and hit it again and again eventually bending the steering wheel back, causing more pressure on him. A man walking his dog found him and called for help

His circulation was completely cut off, and he was loosing conciousness fast. They got him out and immediately called 911. He had an inch indention just below his chest. A helicopter then landed on the Field of Dreams and they took him to Vanderbilt

Yikes! God speed to Coach Plummer and to his family.

    • It is what it is. Sorry DFL.
    • One of the biggest loosing teams in Mid-State are the Macon County Tigerettes. I have noticed that the roster is smaller than in the years past. All the senior's have quit. We have a great group of Jr High players coming up. I sure hope they don't loose them, like they have lost so many others this year. With this young group of girls coming up, a weaker district, they should have no problem going to State.
    • It was updated this season, because I did it.  Linder is the school's all-time leading rusher at 5,156 yards with 2,436 of those coming in 2014.
    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
    • You really mean the Price twin boys and Lyin Larry.
