My son just received a phone call, he was told that Gregory had been fired and Satterfield has accepted the coaching position and athletic director position, can anyone verify this information?

Satterfield is coach and AD. Apparently Gregory had to be escorted from the building. Maybe Sequoyah can join Hardin Valley HS and field just a JV team this year.

 

Let's see if Maurice and Mike can survive all these embarrassments.

The players,coaches, some not all parents took a stand against Oakgrove Rd. for someone they trusted.

And that would be Coach G. as a Coach and A.D.

We stood our ground for what we thought was right and now its time to stand down.

The new Head Coach and A.D. is Coach Satterfield.

Do not forget our fight was not with him, we must now work to put this back together again.

And on 8-22-08 the cats will be coming.

If they stay united with 1/2 the anger they had last night they can send the

our family fully supports the coaches and players of this team and we fully support Mike Lowry and Maurice Moser, this should all be put behind us and we should be focusing on the future of our athletes. By saying we should only have a J.v. team your are downing the other members of our team, do you think that the boys who stood by the school boards decision do not matter? Are they not as good as the other boys?

Absolutely the right direction Don! For the sake of this program we must move forward in a positive way. Last night Mrs.Davis said something that struck me like a brick. " You don't play 4 a coach, you play under him. Under his direction and leadership. You play for your team, your school and your community! You play for the kid who shows up at 6a.m. to workout with you, the teamate who sweated and hurt along side of you. You play for the teachers and staff who cheer you on and encourage you daily. You play for the people at church and at local bussiness's who brag about how proud they are of THEIR team." That may not be word 4 word, but that's what I walked away scratching my head about. We all should remember what Abe Lincon said about a house devided will never stand. But now is the time to stand. Hand in hand arm and arm. Now we must blend blue and white with black and gold and red and white. All into the head dress of the mighty CHIEFS! There is a great deal of healing to be done. And a great deal of work to do. Soon the season of summer will end, this is followed by a season of hunting. We will need to be ready to hunt wildcats and bears and defend our land from chargers.

I applaude you all for your fight on both sides of this thing. I am as guilty as anyone of being driven by an agenda. And for that I am truely ashamed. But now is the time to turn the arrows away from each other and redirect them to our foes. We must reach out to all points of the reservation to gather all brave young warriors back in. Love him or hate him I leave you with a quote from Vis4Victory. "Anybody can be born a Redskin or a Cherrokee. But only the Bravest, the Strongest, the most Honerable can ever be hailed as a CHIEF!!"

Hey Folks first I would like to appolagize to anyone who I have offended in the last couple of days. PJ I would like to say I'm sorry, and will do so in person when we run into each other. Also to CoachT for all the headache. To be honest when I'm in a bad mood, someone should really take my laptop from me. I was asked today to be careful in what I say because of the position I hold, but I am still a parent of two high school kids and there is still a rage inside of me, the rage is all directed to Mike Lowry and Dean Williams (thats all I need to say about them). I am a big supporter of Sequoyah High School athletics and I will continue to support the Cheifs! I also would like to wish David Gregory and his family the best of Luck! I would like to also comment on what the board passed last night about the Volunteer Coaches. Do they realize that minor sports like girls softball, boys and girls soccer, volleyball etc... at all Monroe County High Schools use volunteer coaches who have kids on the team? Do they realize, finding coaches is hard to do, or are they going to pay people to do this? Yeah it was easy to make this ruling but they did it with no plan.

Just a message for the Seniors, we told you a couple of years ago to believe in the system and it would pan out and things would be ok, right now I know you dont feel like the system did the right thing and I want to appolagize for that, but you guys cannot let your senior year go by and not play, you will regret it for the rest of your lives, this was going to be and still can be, one of the best teams ever! I know you guys are a tight bunch, we seen that last night, so please just think about it, there are alot of youngsters looking up at you guys. GO CHIEFS!!!
