rising junior RB Dorian Cozart may be transferring to 7A Bentonville (Tigers)Arkansas...coached by Barry Lunney Sr & Jr, a football powerhouse in Arky....

 

 

Barry Lunney????? Wasn't he the QB of the Hogs the year Madre Hill was a freshman????? I think they were coached by Danny Ford and won the SEC West prior to getting manhandled by Florida in the SEC Title Game.

Blur, make sure you start a new rumor next week when Dorian is back in town and getting ready for his upcoming season with Catholic. Volquest would like to hear that too. Congrats on your new job writing for TN Varsity, keep getting pub for TN kids, but remember a good reporter never reports RUMORS, just facts.

you act like what I posted isnt factual(it wasnt a rumor)...yes he is coming back in town...but the news at the time was he was leaving...You can go ahead and post it on volquest. I actually put in one of my stories that Dorian would be back at Catholic...thus his inclusion in Early Look 2010 prospects. I was one of the advocates for Dorian to stay at Catholic....he would get much more pub...I'm always going to support the TN kids...you know that

Blur if it was a fact, then why did you start the thread as Knoxville Catholic Rumor, and use the word MAY be transfering here and on Volquest. All I am saying is lets not start rumors, lets speak of facts. It would be great if you start a rumor he is leaving, to start one that he is staying, so people in the community know what is going on and their is not any negative feel around Catholic about his possible transfer for whatever the reason. Anytime you use the word transferring people want to know why and its none of their business, and 9 times out of 10, people see it as a negative thing. People assume Catholic did something to make him leave. That is the society we live in.

Catholic did nothing wrong...... I used the word may...because if I posted all the details it wouldnt be good. So at the time he was gone. I know Dorian personally. I'll just leave it at that.

      Bounder, you are correct. And it is so easy today. As a civilian today, I can check my 6th grade grandson’s grades in real time. 46 years ago as a young head coach, I knew who were my weak students and would do a weekly check. A decade and 1/2 later as an administrator, I would ask guidance for attendance, and grade reports as I did my own discipline reports. 5 years later I could run all those reports in a few minutes. today Text one the Secretaries and they can create a red flag report only printing the names with D’s and F’s or attendance and discipline issues. You are not even dealing with a whole team. The only problem with modern technology is someone who might not want to know.

      The buck stops with the head coach, he should have know if any of his players  were not making the required grades. Either he has someone checking weekly before games and reporting to him or he should do it himself.
