Any thought on the Grainger Grizzlies this year, we all know Skylar Mcbee can play anything , but who will step up to help him?

I moved away from east Tennessee last spring I heard all the hipe about the McBee kid. Will he play football or basketball in college? Or is he good enough to play on the next level?

The season at home had its ups and downs, but the Grizz closed out their first regular season home schedule 3-2 winning the last two.

At 3-1 in the region they've still got a shot at a home playoff game. Closing out with Union County then Carter...two tough places to play for different reasons most of the time. Let's get psyched up Grizz fans...the boys are in the playoffs!

FYI for all the Grainger fans..... Carter will not have their starting QB for your game. He got tossed in the Gibbs game.

Dont think it will matter much, except for on the scoreboard, I think they will kill Union and get beat by Carter, jmho. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

For Grainger, it's one less player to have to focus on. This will allow them to focus more on stopping the run. I'm not saying they will, but every little bit helps.

The Grainger/Union game will be played on Saturday. This is after the tragic loss of the coaches wife from Union County. All our prayers go out to the family, friends, coaches and players.

I believe Grainger will win a tough fought game. This is usually a very physical game. Next week I still think Carter will defeat Grainger, even without the QB. They just have too much speed...and speed kills.

A sweep of the last two games would give Grainger a home playoff game. That would really be nice in the first year of the new school.

kevB:

Would you care to elaborate on those "different reasons"??? /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

No explanation is needed...but if you want one...

Carter has lost only one region game in four years...that's what makes that one tough. UC has only won one region game each of the last two season and has only one win to date this season...making them dangerous because they're wanting to not go winless in the region among other things.

Was there something else you thought I meant rS? /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

    • Sorry Barn. I wasn’t specific enough. It seems I’m always protecting the principal at 825. My interactions with her have been extremely positive, but very limited. With all the other stories being told, I’m confident there are other sides I am not aware of. Regardless, there are lots of decent people earning good checks up there. Maybe too good, which explains why no one is willing to speak up. My beef is with the poor communication among the athletic programs and with the administration. Seven years ago the poor communication led to my son missing graduation due to a sporting event that was planned months before. I chalked it up to the system being totally shocked that the baseball team made it out of their district, and our then AD was a football coach. Maybe they were surprised and did not plan appropriately. That was more palatable than they just didn’t give a crap. Déjà vu, seven years later, same thing. Different administration, but same result.  Maybe in seven more years, it will actually be “about the kids”. They should do better.
    • That's a fair line. But if it's not over, that's a big problem.
    • RR, you think that changes this year, or at least improves? I know they had a couple of talented young receivers last year that made some plays later in the year. Defensive back was a struggle against any team that was above average at throwing the ball.
    • You would think they got a bunch of interest
    • You would think with football just three months away more would be talking. There's only so much a person can say about someone allowing the field to get painted without asking their boss who would have said ((((((((  ALE NO ))))))))) or all the other BULLS#!T they've done as they lead Maryville High into the new age of WOKE in a conversative town. I'm ready for some football news without hearing something coming out of 825 that Power Munger has done to cap off the week.
