Maybe Centennial played "up" to the competition, and will take this experience and prosper.

The Brentwood coaches know what they need to do- and expect- from the team this early part of the season.

Consistency, minimizing mistakes, and making plays will breed confidence that will get them where they want to be.

The team knew that Centennial has never beaten them- as did the Cougars. It was extra motivation for Centennial, and for Brentwood I know for a fact that the coaches didn't stress that point. The pressure of the first game out was enough. I'll take it that they know what they're doing. . .

Bruins got the expected W- and now it's on to the next game and challenge.

really? no credit for the 03 team that went 7-3 in the regular season and beat antioch in the first round of the playoffs and only lost he following game because the refs couldnt agree on a made field goal?

how bout the 6-4 04 team?

Look buddy, those two teams may not have been bad, but advancing to the 2nd round in the playoffs isn't exactly a dream season. Some schools would look at a 2nd round exit as disappointing. The same goes for a 6-4 season. The fact remains, Centennial has never won anything, and until they do, people will not take them seriously. A victory over Centennial simply does not carry much clout at this point.

Dude. What is you're problem? You've made 10 posts on this forum and all of them have trashed Centennial. Yeah, we don't have a long history of football success like other teams in the county. But that doesn't mean we don't care about our team. The Cougar faithful pack the stands every week no matter who we p[lay or what the state of the team is. That doesn't mean we wont ever turn a corner. We believe in our team, and we'll always defend the athletes at CHS.

My advice to you would either be start talking football or please spare us from any further nuggets of joy you may have regarding the CHS program.

I have never said the "Cougar faithful" don't care about their team, and I never said they won't turn the corner. What I did say was that at this point Centennial's football program was not to be excessively proud of defeating. And my advice to you would be to stop putting words in my mouth.

    • To be fair to the head coach, he may have submitted his roster of players to the AD and the AD with the help of a counselor checks the academic status of each player then submits to the TSSAA.  Some coaches do not submit eligibility status on the TSSAA portal
    • Has does the AD still have a job at the school. Someone had to submit eligibility rosters to the TSSAA before the season starts.  That’s usually submitted by the AD along with head coach.  Someone submitted the ineligible student and was listed as eligible.  That will come out soon as it can be checked on the TSSAA portal who submitted the eligibility status of all players.
    • Your lucky, my head hit my desk….. desk is fine.
    • This is my ranking, not computer generated. I factored in how poorly that region competed in postseason play…which is why Loretto and LC didn’t make the cut. Loretto is probably 11 though.
