Hunter was the subject of much debate last year on this board. He is a great player who signed to play at MTSU. It was pretty amusing to follow the logic and lack of logic regarding how good Hunter was. Some of that seem feeling exists for Payne.

Payne does keep his shirt tucked in though as I suspect Hunter is doing at MTSU. VBG

As good as Payne is they would probably let him play without a shirt on down at Auburn were he has commited to. lol

Payne has not really been playing as well this year as he did last year. I agree that he should be one of the favorites to win the state, but his recent scores don's support that position. I like Payne amd hope he turns it around.

Does anyone out thee have a clue that golf is played in West Tennessee also? How can Houston and Cory Gaylord not get any respect after what they did last year and so far this year? I would put Cory up against most anyone in the State. He tied for first last year and had final round of 67, on a windy day when the scores went way up, after 3-putting the final hole to let the others into a playoff.

He is very focused to revenge last years individual miscue and Houston is playing great going into Old Fort.

Should be fun.

He will win state this year! Payne enters the season with two years of state turny births under his belt. He now has the experience and the goods to get it done on the highest level of tennessee golf! lol its simple really

After Day 1 Payne is the best at State shooting a 67. His nearest competitor is 5 storkes back I believe so he should wrap it up tomorrow unless things turn weird. Glad to see Payne playing well....he's a good kid!

I talked with Payne this morning he seemed pretty relaxed going in to today with a 4 stroke lead. I hope he keeps it together and wraps this thing up! Austin Garrett from Dekalb was also tied for 3rd after yesterday and feeling confident as I also spoke with him. The guys from Dekalb feel they can pull this thing out as a team today also if the whole team behind Payne and Austin play strong. James was on the box when I was talking with Payne and Austin, he looked calm and ready to go. And If yall are wondering about the title of the thread, "Its simple really" that is an inside joke with me and payne lol we were at a church event spending the night at a host home when i started this thread. For the record he didnt ask me to I was making fun of him when I did it lol but I really do think he will take it today and I have all season!

    • It is what it is. Sorry DFL.
    • One of the biggest loosing teams in Mid-State are the Macon County Tigerettes. I have noticed that the roster is smaller than in the years past. All the senior's have quit. We have a great group of Jr High players coming up. I sure hope they don't loose them, like they have lost so many others this year. With this young group of girls coming up, a weaker district, they should have no problem going to State.
    • It was updated this season, because I did it.  Linder is the school's all-time leading rusher at 5,156 yards with 2,436 of those coming in 2014.
    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
    • You really mean the Price twin boys and Lyin Larry.
