The key to this game is without question PHYSICAL PLAY in the trenches. In every single meeting between these two schools the team that has been able to run the football came away victorious.

In 2001 Sycamore won behind a strong running performance by their duo of Ray Carter & Jordon Mayo.

In 2002 Sycamore won when Victor O'Connell broke what was at the time a "school record" for rushing yards in a game.

In 2003 Cheatham Co. won when Sam Reeves rushed for more than 300 yards and broke a regular season county rushing record.

In 2004 Sycamore won when Maurice Polk rushed for nearly 200 yards and Josh Garza added an additional 100 yards.

In 2005 Cheatham Co. ran wild when Landon Jones & Brad Potts both went over 100 yards in a blowout game.

In 2006 Sycamore won a thriller behind 100 yard rushing performances by both Austin Lohin & Matt Carrigan.

In 2007 Sycamore won in a blowout behind 100+ yard rushing performances by Ryan Pope, Jake Simms, and Cory Carrigan.

Go War Eagles.......Great group of seniors on this team. I would like to see them retain possession of the powder keg. This is always a physical match-up with the team that minimalizes the mental mistakes and capitalizes on momentum swings coming out on top. Good luck to Sycamore, have a great week of practice and win the battles up front on Friday!

Last time I saw Maurice he was working at Sonic in Pleasant View. I don't know whether or not he is attending college. Sycamore's Josh Garza & Cheatham Co.'s Austin Stokes are both seniors on the Lambuth football team.

The Sycamore Game Notes will be posted tonight by Marcus Rich on the Cheatham County Cubs Football Fan Page.

Anyone who is unable to attend tomorrow due to being out of town on business, having prior obligations, attending college a long way away, or even if you are just out of the state or even the country.........

You can listen to this game tomorrow night. Visit the Cheatham County Cubs Football Fan Page at http://www.cheathamcubsfanpage.com/fb for all of the LIVE action. You can listen to the game by clicking on the link titled "Cubs Friday Night" under the Main Menu. When the new page opens just click on the link titled "Cubs Radio Network" and that will take you directly to the WQSV website. The website for WQSV AM790 is http://www.wqsvam790.com and this is the station that broadcasts the games. The Pregame Show will start at 7:10PM and kickoff is set for 7:30PM tomorrow night. I hope that the weather is good this week because it would be a darn shame for the crowd to be affected by inclimate weather.

If you are planning on attending the game tomorrow night and still would like to listen to the broadcast then feel free to bring your radios and go to AM790 /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
