What happened last week, and who did Harpeth play?

Lost to East Robertson 20-13.........BAD!!!

East Robertson was winless on the year heading into the game and they even lost to Ezell Harding. OUCH!!!!

HHSnumber1fan, to me it seems like Harpeth has regressed since last year. They won't beat Hickman Co., Lewis Co., or Fairview this year. NOT A CHANCE IN ANY OF THOSE CASES!!! With the losses to East Robertson & Waverly Central + a Week 10 loss upcoming against Sycamore one has to say:

Harpeth will be 4-6 at best this year. That's if they are able to be Richland, East Hickman, and somehow upset F.R.A. Coach Pack has those guys very improved already. They took Goodpasture to the wire a few weeks ago.

If you aren't in the top 3 and you are below .500 then in all likelihood you can forget about going to the playoffs. Richland snuck in last year because they were 5-5.

Harpeth is going to have to beat Richland, East Hickman, and either Hickman Co./Fairview to be a state playoff team. THAT'S NOT GOOD!!!!

Hickman Co has a good team and it was a close game till the 2nd half. Mistakes by Harpeth were costly once again and they still cannot get their offense on track. They are trying so many things with so many people and its not working. Foriest can be a really good tailback but I think he would better compliment the team as a receiver and then Harpeth would have two legitimate big time playmakers at receiver. Teams would have to play Harpeth honest in the secondary and wouldn't be able to double up on Horkins. They had trouble getting the ball to their playmakers and that in and of itself is a problem and HC played some good D. But Harpeth wants to be a running team and it's not going to happen for them unfortunately with this group. They still lack a true speedster at tailback which could take pressure off the passing game. HC sacked Harpeth's QB Roark several times and his passes were shaky in the 2nd half. Teams know they are going to try to go to Horkins and he will continue to get double coverage until they find another receiving threat.......... The answer is Foriest and believe me the passing game would flourish mixed in with Jones and Stapleton. With the Harpeth offense bottled up all night their defense had to stay on the field too long and the breakdowns started happening due to tiredness. The Harpeth D did a nice job for a while in containing Sowell but we all knew sooner or later he would get his yards and he did because they kept pounding him. The Harpeth D really did do a much better job this week even though the score would suggest otherwise but they were on the field way too much. The quick strikes and quick starts that Harpeth needs just isn't happening like it did last year and thats a problem.
