From: McCain to suspend campaign

I heard two of the key members of the Senatorial committee that has been leading the work on the plan. Obama has been in touch with the members of the committee every day and has had input since last week. He is in Washington today and is meeting with the committee and the President. BTW, now we know the first phone call was initiated by Senator Obama. He contacted McCain directly and offered to put together a JOINT PRESS RELEASE to be sent out at the same time. McCain agreed but his campaign manager decided to pull the trigger and make McCain look better in the eyes of the public by doing his press release early, before the two campaigns could work out the details! NOW, WHO IS PLAYING POLITICS IN A TIME OF NATIONAL CRISIS? McCain has flip-flopped at least five times this past week and a half on this issue and even conservatives are upset with him for his mixed message and statements. He had NO INPUT ON THE PLAN until this morning when he arrived in Washington. Obama has been in negotiations since late last week. McCain is playing "presidential" while Obama is using his attorney and political skills to work with congress to make something happen. McCain's actions were planned by his campaign to make him look like he is putting America first and that's about where it ends.

It looks nice in print but don't be fooled for one minute... McCain's folks are doing everything they can to make Senator McCain look like he is leading the fight for the bill but the truth is he just got into the mix today!
