Friday night was crazy and fun filled! Lebanon's starting tailback Jacob Maynard was not playing offensive( at the tail back position) due to an injury during the week at practice. Lebanon played good defense and help the patriots to 14 points. Luke Sampson has missed most of the season so far due to a knee injury but made up for it in this game. Sampson picked off a patriots pass to stop a good looking drive and swing momentum in lebanon favor in the second half and had a sack on 3rd down to make it 4th and 22 and lead to an oakland punt. Lebanon had a missed field goal early but rallied back to get a field goal in the second quarter to go into half trailing 7-3. in the third quarter Lebanon went up 10-7 but was soon answered by the pats who took the lead on a decent drive down field to make it 14-10. late in the fourth quarter lebanon recieves the ball in their 20 yard line with 2:51 seconds left in the game. Matthew Maynard leads the devils down the field hitting Robert Crudup, Patrick Maynard, and Jonathon Gleason on quick out routes and screens. Then when all thought hope was lost Matthew Maynard connects with his twin brother Jacob Maynard for 23 yards on 4th and 21 with a little less then a min remaining!!!!! Matthew Maynard had a QB sneak to put the Devils up 17-14 with 30 seconds remaining. Oakland made it interesting by returning the squib kick down to lebanon 45 yard line ( Oakland already returned one kick for a td in the first half). Lebanon's defense held the pats for the last 20 seconds to upset number 3 in the state Oakland. It was an amazing game ending with the students and some parents rushing the field and crowding at midfield chanting " Who we be? L*Town!!"
