Oneida hosts Cloudland

Recommended Posts

Oneida going into the post season with their heads held high after successful UNDEFEATED regular season. New season starts now.

Can Cloudland come to the reservation and get the "W"?

Can they contain Oneida's Offense?

Lets get it started!!!!!!

Pujo....old buddy. Can't seem to find you most days on the board. Well, here we are......THE PLAYOFFS! I'm pretty excited about my boys prospects, but we are carefully guarding our one game at a time motto. Cloudland is in front of us and the plan is to fire up the old steamroller. Hope it still works. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> I hope your boys pitch a winner Friday, the Cherokees are a mighty fine team and it will take a good effort to topple them. We didn't exactly play the perfect game last Friday, but we found a way! Tell them kids mistakes are going to happen.....they will have to have a short memory regarding the ones they make. The 'Kees present a variety of problems because they use the pass to set up the run....as I am sure most teams you play this is the exact opposite. (run to set up pass) That little Vanskiver is the deal at QB. Like trying to catch a qreased pig-let! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> (he ain't very big) Good luck to you and your crew.

Kaz , I'm sure Cheif Lambert will have the troops ready . They will be focused for the task at hand. Cloudland has some big play threats , but they are coming into this game at a bad time. Oneida is just to strong. I know about what the score will be ,but I'll keep that to myself. Ask ZAZA ,He knows too.

True. I know the score will be whatever Oneida wants it to be.

Cloudland is a playoff team , I'm sure our coaches will treat them as such.

Everyone didn't give coalfield any chance to beat Harriman and look what happened.

I know you all have played them and know more about them.

All I know is they made the playoffs and there is usually a reason for that.

I bet ,not to many people give david a chance against Goliath and I bet Cloudland is not as small as David.

I think Cloudland will hard and show the pride this program has had over the years and Idon't think they want anyone's mercy. They will come to play . Anything can happen is a highschool football game and I'm sure both sides are aware of that. Just hope both teams play with Class and pride. I'm sure both coaches would be satisfied.

    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
