I had to watch the game on tv. I wonder if anyone else shares your opinion, though. The play you're referring to, where there was a fumble, I must say that I'm inclined to agree with you in that there could have been more effort given. However, there was plenty of effort given towards the end of the game on the comeback attempt...and I must ask.... what # O lineman are you referring to?

Been a long time fan and was at the game and agree wholeheartedly about not making an attempt to recover the fumble. Based on Coach's response on the sideline, I believe he was miffed also. You are correct on the lineman that "sulks" on the sideline. I believe that seniors on the team will get the guys ready to go. Remember in 2006 we were 3-7 going into the playoffs; true region champs and 7 points from a 3rd round game. Records can be misleading.

The Bucs should handle DCA, but need to make a few changes before planning a return trip to the state championships. The lack of heart shown by several of the players is very disheartening. While trailing 7-3 to Tyner in the first half, the ball was fumbled on an exchange between the QB and RB. The ball landed at the feet of the QB, who instead of diving on the ball, stood still and appeared to step backwards, away from the ball and away from contact. While I realize that 2 of Tyner's defensive linemen were diving for the ball, he should have made an attempt to recover the fumble, he probably would have beaten both of them to the ball. I realize that he has been injured at times over the last couple of years and doesn't like to get hit, in fact avoids getting hit, but in a game of this magnitude his lack of effort was disappointing. Then to see him standing on the sidelines talking to Courtney Braswell from "Stump on Sports" DURING the game was baffeling. Several times this year I have noticed him "chatting it up" with Courtney instead of being involved with the game, many of those times after he has thrown an interception. For the Bucs to make a run in the playoffs, they need him to be fully concentrating on the game, and they need him to play with the heart of a champion. He has the physical tools to lead the Bucs deep into the playoffs, but needs to see a cardiologist. Also, I've noticied one of the offensive linemen who always seems to sit by himself when he comes off the field. He usually comes off yelling at the other linemen about something that has happened. Most of the time HE is the one who missed an assignment and caused the loss on the play. He then proceeds to the bench and sits alone, and will move if the other linemen come to sit by him. The o-line has to work as a cohesive unit for the Bucs running game to be successful, and having a premadonna on the line will not get them very far in the playoffs. Its a shame that there are players out there who are more concerned with stats, playing time, and avoiding contact, than with winning football games. There are too many guys out there giving it everything they've got on everyplay, guys like Cole Webster, Reece Davis, Seth Emory, Taylor Gilley, and many others, who deserve better effort than what some of these guys are giving. While I would never question a players talent level because they are kids, I think it is fair to question the amount of effort they put forth.

The Bucs have the ability to make a deep run this year into the playoffs, it's just a matter leadership by some of the players.

i totally agree with this. do you go to alot of the games?

I know you seem to not question the guys talent or effort....but You are making wayy to many assumptions....Nic Hughes is one of the best leaders boyd has had in years and have led the bucs to a great regular season.....Saying he has lack of heart is retarded.....He is one of the reason the bucs pulled out the redbank win.....and talking to courtney is not considered chatting.....He actually talks to him for a little bit of advice since he does know what he is talking about because after talking to him he came out and completed straight backside passes that courtney informed him that were WIDE open....and this "premadonna" you talk about is also a huge asset to the team...and does his job well enough to keep the line in tact along with webster and davis!!

I dont quite agree with you on your quote. I dont understand how anyone can call themselves a fan but then agree with someone who is bashing boyds lineman and leadership. Thats not the way to support your team. If our going to have boyd in your name then you should better defend the team you support. Ive been to the football games and they give more effort than anyteam ive seen. I think you should just keep your mouth shut since you dont know what your talking about aparently. That would go for all the people who think they know what exactly goes on in practice and on the field. That is mostly directed more towards piratelookingat40

Incase you didnt see the other thing that I posted, I love how you can sit there and talk about boyds players and who that are "chatting it up" with when you definately dont know what they talk about, neither do I but im sure its not about their plans for the weekend.

Probably the only time you'll hear me say go DCA. I hate private schools most of the time but I think we would match up better against DCA since we have played already.

All this crying around, I don't know what to think of it. I mean you hate SC because they are the only team to beat you this year and happened to land in the region driver seat. You hate York because they lost to a double digit underdog to keep you from winning the region championship. You are hating on Upperman because they played the game of their life to knock you out of the region championship. Concerned that you got a bad draw? Just remember one thing. If Westy takes care of business and beats SC, you don't have anything to worry about. Easier said than done I understand.
