Sorry, thats not the case. I would hardly call that competition. I'll take Maplewood > McCallie. McCallie could barely stay on the field vs. Ensworth. If they were not in their own Division II league... then they'd be competing and hanging with 4A, not with 5A.

Why play a local school that brings NO gate? Both Whites Creek and Maplewood brought more people down than what McCallie would bring. The only game that McCallie folks show up for is Baylor.

Rush Probst (former Hoover head coach) is now the head coach at Lowdnes County in Valdosta, GA.

 

He is at Colquitt County and the got hammered in Region this year.

If you want a state-vs-state deal, at least play the AL state champions. Hoover is on the mend from the Propst-era trash, and making good progress under Coach Niblett. However, the 2-time defending AL 6A State Champions are the Prattville Lions - not the Bucs. They still have to get back to Birmingham to try to earn that title again.
