I wasn't at the Shelbyville Play Day, but was told that Cascade looked very good. Spencer definitely has these girls on the right track. They will play a big role in how 9A plays out this season.

Any results from Shelbyville available yet?

 

 

Jackson Co. over Lincoln Co. by about 13. Lincoln led for three quarters but Jackson County really stepped up the defensive pressure in the fourth and pulled away. Laken Leonard had a very cold shooting game but probably still finished with about 15. Missed several point-blank shots, though.

 

Cannon Co. over Cheatam Co. by one in sudden death. A very entertaining game from two teams who know how to play.

 

Livingston was leading Lavergne by six or eight when I left at the half to get to another game. Don't know who wound up on top.

 

Livingston over Moore County big, but Moore County won its other two games. I didn't see them and am not sure of the opponents.

 

Franklin Co. beat Ravenwood in a game that was fairly close. The 6'4" girl from Ravenwood could be a real player if she is committed to it, but I understand she is one of the top volleyball players in the state, so basketball might not be her first priority. At least two of Franklin County's starters didn't play...the point guard and the post player. They weren't injured, but I think they only had two games scheduled and coach Wild played some younger girls in this one. The transfer from Huntland is an excellent shooter for the Rebelettes.

 

Cookeville over Farragut in a pretty good game. Only saw the second half.

 

That's about all I know.

Moore Co. won over Cumberland County in overtime, but had led pretty much the whole game.

Moore Co. won against Morristown West by one point.

Moore Co. lost to Livingston by >15 maybe >20. They had tremendous defense. MC's eight players were about tuckered out by the last game. /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":blush:" border="0" alt="blush.gif" />

 

If you don't look at the final game of the day, MC looked much better than the previous week. Strong pressure defense and better shooting than the week before. Look for good things from MC this year!
