Playday at Dunlap

It was hard to tell really, every team I saw looked like they were subbing a lot and mixing older players and younger players. I have seen some regular season games, Seq Co split with I believe Rhea Central, beat Marion County or Jasper whichever they're called like 8-4, and against Pikeville today they won 7-2 even though what I would have thought going in was their best pitcher switched schools for whatever reason and was on the mound for Pikeville (long story). I'm pretty sure they're 3-1 and play pretty well for a group of 11-13 year olds, it's hard to tell how good really since the 14 or 16 game schedule limits the competition to teams outside Hamilton County (they have their own league with Soddy, Red Bank etc) . Hopefully everyone will stick with it and continue to work hard, there are several who could be pretty good by the time they are seniors.

    • Now that wouldn’t surprise me a bit. That has been going on heavily since the days of Larry Kerr @ AC. One of the major reasons CC has never really had much at all, barring about 2 seasons in football. AC milks it dry.
    • Interesting how quite it is. Rumors are going around that Anderson County is being looked at by TSSAA for recruiting violations with the Campbell County transfers.
    • I heard from a member of the teaching staff that there has been a dispute over use of the game field between football, and girls lacrosse team. Girls had a game and wanted to warm up and football coaches did want to leave. The football coaches came down hard with some bad vulgar language and the girls lacrosse backed down. What a classy act BHS athletics has become.
    • The lawsuit requests a jury trial. Sable Winfree has extremely competent legal representation. FYI - her lawyer represented the Warren County school system for years, and I believe he knows what constitutes a reasonable lawsuit.
