Why call it Baylor JV? If you're burning one of your 18 varsity dates, then call it Baylor, that's "Baylor". The people at the event will recognize that the first line-up is not present. So, good enough. Calling it Baylor JV while using a varsity date seems a little insecure to me. Are you afraid that someone out there might confuse this? Are your uniforms different? What's up with that? For you Baylor JV guys who are busting your tails, your coaches want the world to know that you are their JV, just in case you don't measure up. This protects them in case one or two souls out there might be confused. Pffft! Boo.

On the other hand it may be like with us; some teams aren't ready and might shy away from the tournament or duals if they think their kids may have to tangle with the varsity.

We enter the JV1 in about 15 varsity events a year......last year they won them all except for a second place finish in one duals tournament. There just aren't enough JV tournaments to get the JV kids the matches they need. We did have a great one this week, but they still only allowed us to enter 4 JV kids per weight.
