Holiday Tournaments @ Cleveland

Are your beginners, JV wrestlers and freshmen now ready for competition? Enter the tournaments being hosted by Cleveland H.S. Our annual Freshman & JV Tournaments will be on 2 Mondays, Dec. 22 & Dec. 29. We are expecting a lot of entries for each tournament, so email or fax your intentions quickly if you plan on entering wrestlers in our tournaments. Information:

 

Monday, Dec. 22- Freshman Holiday Tournament (9th graders only)

 

Weighins- At your place. Weigh in your freshmen either Sat. or Sun. and then fax in their weights to us @

either- 423-559-1560 or 423-479-3884. Fax by 5:00 P.M. Sunday.

 

Wrestling will begin at 9:00 A.M. Monday.

 

No limit on entries. Double elimenation, top 4 medal in each weight, and team award.

 

Junior Varsity Tournament

 

Monday, Dec. 29- For JV wrestlers, which include 9th graders. (Freshmen can wrestle in both tournaments.)

 

Weighins- Same as Freshman tournament, except after Christmas, so +2 lbs. growth allowance.

 

Wrestling begins @ 9:00 A.M.

 

Please let us know soon, so we can begin having an idea how many will be in the tournament.

Sorry about that. Entry fee is $10 per wrestler, and again, no limit on entries.

The freshman division is only for 9th graders. That is why its the freshman tournament. But the jv tournament that is a another subject. I believe if he is on your HS team roster then he can meet the criteria, not sure tho.

To answer the questions that have arisen. The tournament Dec. 22 is a 9th grade only tournament with no girls division. If you have 9th grade girls, you may bring them and we will put them in the tournament. As to the entry increase; due to the minimum rate the referees charge. We love to host these tournaments, but can not lose money and last year we did. We are working with teams that have 20+ entries for a reduced rate. So if you have a large number you can bring, please contact us and we will work with you. Otherwise, the referees are going to have to come down on their JV tournament rates, or hosts schools are going to have to raise the entry fees.
