I'M NOT SAYING HE IS NOT A LEADER or the leader this year...just stating that you can't say HE'S THE GREATEST LEADER IN THE HISTORY OF THE PROGRAM......HE IS THE MAN OF OOLTEWAH FOOTBALL,PERIOD. JUST DIDNT MAKE MYSELF CLEAR,I GUESS.

 

 

Define "leader" so everyone knows what you're talking about. How anybody can say Jacquez Smith is not a leader is truly mind-boggling. But as usual, you say one thing and then say you did not. I too believe he has a chance to achieve greatness, but the best ever from Chattanooga? Have you ever heard of Reggie White?

I know FOR A FACT.......... that this post has false information....did not happen.

 

PERIOD

 

J Smith is the best "leader' the Owls have had in their history of the program.

 

 

 

It did happen and he did say it BUT he was only 15 at the time and had never lost a game up to that point.

GO BACK AND READ IT AGAIN..YOU CRAP STIRRING MINDLESS CHILD...I SAID,HE WASN'T THE GREATEST LEADER IN THE HISTORY OF THE PROGRAM......UNLESS YOU PLAYED FOOTBALL FOR OOLTEWAH EVERY YEAR FOR THE LAST FIFTY YEARS.,.YOU WOULDN'T OR COULDN'T KNOW WHO WAS THE GREATEST LEADER(EVERY YEAR IS DIFFERENT) HE IS THE MOTOR and the EMOTION ON A VERY STRONG TEAM. Tapes look pretty good on this kid, no doubt a great athlete. Looks like he has room for improvement in some areas but i'm sure coach O will fix that up will quick. Seems to be a good kid who doesn't get in trouble, he has a bright future in the orange and white!

WHAT'S YOUR POINT?.....I'M, I LYING ABOUT SOMETHING? I ASKED A QUESTION AND THEN MADE 2 COMMENTS.So you are gonna argue with me on the fact,he doesn'thave a temper? or mouths alot..(which by the way is no big deal for most players nowadays) MY OPINION IS THIS FOR THE LAST TIME.....HOW CAN ANYONE SAY HE'S THE BEST LEADER IN THE HISTORY OF THE PROGRAM,when HUNDREDS,if not THOUSANDS of players have walked through OOLTEWAH'S LOCKERROOM DOORS....SMITH HAS COME ALONG WAY with his self control,attitude,and TEMPER,BUT he sometimes can't escape the fact he could go off anywhere,anytime. I WISH HIM WELL.....just like all young players trying to do right.

Jacquez Smith vs. Maplewood

 

2008 - 5 total stops, 1 pass breakup (4 solo, 1 assist) Maplewood held to 96 total yards of offense on 39 plays run.

 

2007 - 5 total stops, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery (4/1 again) Maplewood ran 34 offensive plays.

      Hmmmmmm doe dee doe doe……sounds like they are leaving Geenback faster than the lawnmower will go in fifth gear.  Hmmmm….. you can bet the lawnmower on that.

      When you have a school that right at 200 kids only half are going to be male and to get 25% of them to come out for football is a very hard task. Take away an 8th grade syatem and your you have another hill to climb up. If 5 kids are actually leaving your not going to have enough for practice. Your only chances for wins would be against the weakest of weak teams. At one time Greenback had kids coming across the wall like the Mexican Border and now their leaving town before sundown. A hugh mistake was made on not hiring Ryan back because of his ties to the community and his ability to bring in the right kids, not run them off. The last coach failed because he wasn't one of community so they go out and do it again. I'm sure Coach Clemmer is a good person because I do know people that do like him but he is caught in the middle of a fan base that will not support him no matter what and it could lead to a disaster if that many kids are leaving the program. The person that caused all of this mess has no business on the school board and needs to stick with hiding in the bushes giving out speeding tickets to out of towners coming through.

      My outsider looking in perspective is Oliver Springs, Coalfield, Rockwood, and Harriman: fill out the top 4 good teams that beat up on the bottom and will all be in a good place to win in the 1st round with one team maybe making it farther. Midway: funnily enough in the middle an alright team that can beat the teams below them but not the top 4 misses the playoffs but still has a decent record. Oakdale, Greenback, Sunbright: round out the bottom each team has its problems and with a rough region and challenging non-conference records may not be pretty. Oakdale graduated lots of talent and experience, Greenback is in all sorts of internal turmoil with their new coach, and Sunbright small roster tough region not tons of Fb played. (Teams could be rearranged with other teams in their groups but this is how I see them finishing)

      Kids quitting to focus on one sport could be a worry but multi-sport athletes transferring out would damage more than just football so I think the people who made this decision could find out they are going to get burned in multiple ways.
