bigredatheart
I am the one who said that our linebackers are tiny. They simply are. We can't count on a sophomore who hasnt played football in two years to start. If we do then we are in trouble. Why cant a school our size have anyone who looks like a linebacker? The sophomore looks like one but he has been away from the game for too long. ALL of our others are either less than 5'8" or they weigh 150. Milan will line up and run right at us and punish us unless we find some linebackers. What happened to our big noseguard who looked so good in the Spring? The kid moved to Louisville, Ky. Red Warrior
I have been out of town since practice began. How is the team looking? I will return next Friday, and will be here for the rest of the season. Anmy surprises so far? Any disappointments? How is the QB working out? Any major changes on offense or defense? What about punting and kicking?
olddevil
Hello WR. Practice has been pretty good.Emphasis seems to be on finding who can play out of the 120-130 kids out there; Lots of athletes and better than decent size. Just need to know about heart.Much will be learned tonight ,I suspect. QB's all look good throwing but it remains to be seen how they will do under game pressure. Kicking and punting have been abysmal much like last year at this time. The kids working on it do show promise and hopefully the kicking game will come around , just as it did last year.Disappointments? Defections of a couple of linemen who could have played and helped. olddevil
The Patriots looked pretty good tonight outscoring Milan 14-10in the varsity segment and tying 7-7 in the junior varsity portion of the controlled scrimmage. Both Shonte and Jay threw the ball very well but there were at least four drops by receivers. The defense played very well especially against the run which they shut down pretty good. Two long passes were given up, one for a TD. This experienced secondary will have to do better.Milan is plenty good and should have a great season. Now it's on to Maplewood next Wednesday which should be really tough. What say you. Boski ? 12yr.oldchamps
Great scrimmage tonight at Paris. Both teams are well coached and talented. I wouldn't be surprised to see them both playing in Cookeville come December.

patriot04
Thanks. I don't like the maplewood scrimmage bein on a wednesday. A lot of ppl aren't gonna be able to go. And I really wanted to see it cuz maplewood has tons of size. Includin a 460 pound defensive tackle.
therealgame
Not sure what olddevil means when he keeps using the word "defection". I have heard that the starting noseguard at the conclusion of Spring practice was kicked off the team. Am I right or is that wrong? If I am right, then how is that a defection?
