Dickson County has always hired within or hired one of their own since the dirt was moved. Word is 4 assistants have applied for sure along with 2-3 others outside the staff that have not been made public. Dickson County has always been known as a football community so I am sure the support is still there for the right coach.

Did DC win it all in 1988? Was that the last time they made a real run at a title?

Nothing will change in USSRD (United Soviet Socialist Republic of Dickson). Much like its now defunct father county, old school politics still rule. The family tree has no branches. Works great for you if you are in the elitist hirearchy of the administration or coaching ranks.......only catch is the citizens (students and team) suffer.

There is talk of putting a wall around the city limits to prevent influx of new ideas or populus. Reagan is dead, Billy Joel is to old to bring in Rock and Roll.............might could work.

Does anyone know if the four assistants are qualified for the head coaching position in DC ? I would think that the principal hiring would consider that first regardless of a "good ole boy network" you speak of. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

Welcome to the T. Dickson Co has a great tradition. Good luck with the coaching hire.

If you think that then you do not know much about the history of Dickson Co. football and its past head coaching hires. I think every single assistant is a DCHS alum.

Actually URSUS, I believe Coach Pearson graduated in Robertson County, I may be wrong? Murphree graduated from Waverly High School. There has been others from other areas in the past. DC has generally hired from within with people who are DC folk. It is not a bad thing if they are qualified to do the job. I don't think I would call it politics. I think it is good people who can coach who want to "go back home." There have been a few cases where hometown boys did not get jobs @ DC when applied for. That is not so bad either. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

The good ole boy network is still alive in DC. The only thing is the boys have changed. If Phil Fulmer applied Williams or Holley would still get the job because they are the closest in the good ole boy network. That is just the way it is in DC so you might as well accept it!!!! /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
