CPA loses tonight by 10. Ugly loss to a BA team who played harder and was shooting well. CPA acted like they didn't want to be there. CPA also had David Anderson on the bench with an injury. Thad outplayed Z Mason on both ends with less talent and more effort. Free throw line was not going well for CPA either. Go figure?

CPA , to be honest, is probably not a Top 15 team in the state right now. They have struggled from day 1 finding role players to support Miller, Mason, and Anderson. Anderson is the senior who plays with the most emotion and fire, and he has not played the last 3 games due to a nagging injury he had surgery for in the off-season. He is not the leading scorer, but probably the most consistent player, and the best defender.

All of the scoring falls on Miller and Mason, and, to be honest, Mason seems to be even less motivated than usual this year. At times, he just seems to play about 1/2 speed. Such a shame for a young man with so much talent and potential. Miller is a great scorer, but is having to carry too much of the scoring load, and I think that hurts his game.

He missed 5-6 free throws tonight at critical times. Hard to explain.

BA played well, and probably had more 3-point baskets than 2-point baskets. The have 2 very good shooters who were lights out from 3 tonight. They also shot FT's well.

CPA is going to have to get Anderson back, and better play from Mason to have any chance to do anything in March this year. I think they will have a really tough time with DL this week.

There is no excuse for "lack of effort" when all the other members of the team are working as hard as they can. If a player doesn't want to "bring it", then sit him down and let him decide what he really wants. Win or lose....

CPA needs to get back to beating their chests and having fun. That includes the coaches.

CPA was getting out hustled in so many areas of the game. Their defense was sloppy, and they have to find other people to score besides the big 3 of Mason, Miller, and Anderson. The other players look scared to try and make a play for themselves. CPA also needs to hit free throws. This was a game they should have won by ten.

CPA's performance this year is disappointing. I saw BA play in the Ensworth tourney and was not impressed. What happened to the CPA team of last year? Didn't most of their starters return?

Working hard and beating their chests and showing up the competition are two different things....

    • I grew up watching Greene Devil Football since I could walk and still close with a lot of the coaches so should know my history pretty well lol.  Everything worked out the way it should have but firmly believe McCurry would have won some State Title if he wouldn't been let go (Greeneville still runs the same D he brought here and he let Ballard run the O and stayed out of it when it came to calling plays.  Greeneville was put out in the Semi's McCurry's last year against Maryville and the next year Greeneville stayed in 4a and was State Runner up playing were they were placed for the first time by the TSSAA.). It was definitely a McCurry and Ballard show that turned everything around along with the Community buying in and revamping the weight room and field house. Since Ballard got promoted to HC every Coach after him has been within the Greeneville Coaching staff because your right, they know what it takes to win a state championship.  Ballard was a master mine on O and what i think Greeneville has lacked since he left and let some Championships or making it to the Championship slip away over the last few years
    • Sounds like you know your area history well. Going back and looking the records were better than I thought but mostly still beating Upper East TN schools. Ballard sounds like he came/was promoted at the right time.    I do think it’s no coincidence that them keeping the HCs as guys who were former guys on the staff. Too many times schools want a “state championship” leveled coach from the outside but they don’t know the landscape. Promoting from within will help with less turnover and keep the program consistent.
    • You’re a fool if you think I have more than one account
    • Looking back they had better records than I recalled against upper East TN.  But they still took off once ballard got there. And beating other good programs
