Yeah, both boys and girls have been postponed to Feb. 7. Side note on Cherokee boys - they did beat Jefferson County Friday night by 13 or so. I don't know the final score.

While we're at it...in the IMAC...Morristown West v. Claiborne for Jan. 27 has been cancelled. It will not be made up. Includes both boys and girls.

Dobyns-Bennett survives in Rogersville, downing Cherokee 57-51. Not exactly a re-assuring effort by the Lady Indians against the worst IMAC team. Cherokee has been held at or below 30 pts. numerous times against district 2, region 1 teams, and D-B could not put them away.

True, the Lady Indians do have a penchant for underachieving against lesser opponents. It'll be interesting to see which team shows up to play a hot Lady Vikings club in Bristol on Friday night.

Gotta say I'm proud of Boone for their win over rival Crockett. Particularly proud of the lone remaining senior on the team, Christa Baskett. She truly stepped up in a big way this week, both on and off the floor. Led the team like a senior should. On the floor, she took the responsibility of guarding the best player in the conference, and helped hold her to less than half her average, and kept her composure, even though late in the game, her coach called a timeout for the sole purpose of berating her for a mistake, which drew the ire of the Boone fans, and helped her team gut out the win in double-overtime. When kids learn these kind of lessons, it will serve them the rest of their lives..........

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
