Harding won their first game fo the year 45-14 today, getting ready for the showdown with MUS next week! Harding scored 35 points in the first Qtr. It got going with a 30yd. pass by Justin Reeves to TE David Lincoln(Jared Sparks PAT). Harding then scored on a Todd Cox run(Sparks pat). Trevor Edwards on a run then scored(Sparks PAT).Cox again on another run(Sparks PAT). Cortez Mack then scored a the longest run of the night!(Sparks PAT). That was the end of the 1st QTR. with the score Harding 35 Catholic 0! Then the freshman came in and gave up the first points of the year on a long run, Catholic scored and missed the PAT! On the ensuing kickoff Todd Cox took another KO back to score for the 3rd time on the day! Jared Sparks then kicked his first FG of his career, a 35 yarder to make the score 45-6 at halftime! The game then was moved from 12 to 6 min Qtrs, No scores in the 3rd, then Catholic scored late and got the 2pt conversion! So basically it was Hardings 1st team 45 and Catholics 1st team 0! The freshman got some valuable playing time today! They played the half the first, the 2, 3, and 4th! So dont let the score fool you Harding scored 35 in the 1st Qtr and was on pace to score 140 in the game! This teams offense could be very dangerous, along with a always tough Defense! A test next week @ MUS, 7:30 kickoff, should be a packed house! Give me your responses on the game, the team, or the upcoming game!

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
