MBA trailed 25-17 at half, then cut it to 25-23 but the two-point conversion attempt failed. The Big Red drove down at the end of the game without any timeouts and put themselves in position, but the 25-yard FG attempt went wide.

Well, looks like my alma mater got the job done tonight. Great job guys!

 

BGA simply outplayed the Big Red and deserved the win. It was payback for last year.

As far as BGA football goes, this is the best friday night in the regular season that I can remember.

wildcatfan, were you at the game? It was a fabulous contest! In my opinion, MBA was the more talented team, but talent didn't matter tonight, because BGA was scrappier and made the plays when they needed to. Hats off to Greer Bickley, who led a methodical, time-consuming offense for the 'Cats. Their patience, as well as their "bend-but-don't-break" defense, made the difference tonight. Both teams will be around late into the postseason. Good luck to Coaches Rutledge and Moore for the inevitable to occur -- fine seasons.
