7AA Tournament Games Monday

The first game is at 6:00 between Cannon co and Smith co. Cannon won a hard fought game Friday night against York by fighting back from a 12 point deficit in the first qtr. They took the lead by 1 with 6:25 left to go in the 4th qtr only to see the lead change 6 more times before winning by 1. My congrats to coach Dodgen and the Lionettes on their win which secured a region birth.

 

Smith co comes into the game with a good win over Macon co and a hard fought loss to Livingston Academy that went down to the 4th qtr. This game has all the makings of a good one to decide the #3 and #4 seeds going into region play. To throw a little fuel on the fire, Smith co will be trying to avenge a loss to Cannon co they suffered last year in the district tournament.

 

The championship game will be at 7:30 between Upperman and Livingston Academy. Upperman has won the last two meetings. Both games were 5 points or less and went down to the wire. I think it's safe to say that this will be the best night of basketball that's been played all year long in the Hoops 10,000 seat arena.

      2024 Sweetwater Wildcats

      They did a 10 play series deal instead of down and distance. LC scored twice but if it had been an actual game neither would have mattered because they turned over the ball twice with Sweetwater forcing fumbles both times. LC only scored on the 2nd stringers as well. Defense is looking solid and the offense has a good running back and receiver who did not play last year but made several great catches during the scrimmage, I believe the cats had some key pieces missing with baseball and track still being in season at the time. Considering the wildcats were matched up against a 5A school the cats held their own and forced multiple turnovers while also creating scoring opportunities against the LC defense.

      I don’t see any of them guys why leave programs to go there with no community backing or anything. Word up here on the hill is davy and veto into it over whose kid should be q b for jr high. Tough times in tc hope it all changes with a new face. And once again we aren’t giving up shoulders. And he doesn’t want that crap down there lol

      They had the toughest bracket last year and no one said a word. You will never make everyone happy. Someone is always complaining.

      Whoever gets hired I don’t think they will be there long, they’ll get ran out of town because they can’t win a tough region with a pee wee team.
