Sevier Co. Worst run Tourney Ever!

Thankfully Sevier Co. is no longer going to be in Region 2 District 4!!!

 

This has been the worst run District Tourney in recent memory!

 

1. Did not post scores to the paper from the first night of girls basketball

2. Terrible Hospitality Room

3. PA announcer who talks while players are shooting free-throws

4. 2 Errors by the scorekeeper during Heritage v. Farragut (did not add a heritage player, gave a foul to a FHS starter who was sitting on the bench and not even in the game) The scorekeeper did not keep the book correctly to find out when fouls occurred

5. For the Saturday girls game i was told that both teams were sitting in a dark gym waiting for administrators to come turn on the lights and show them their assigned dressing rooms 30 mins before they were allowed to warm up.

 

This is not a reflection on the Sevier Co. Basketball teams or coaches but on the adminstration for poor organization and either poor hiring or poor training of crucial personnel!

 

This is an embarrassment to the school, I would like to know how much the Athletic Director is going to be paid for his "Tournament Director Fee"

 

The seniors and their parents wait 4 years for their district tournament and its a shame that the one at Sevier Co. has been run so poorly. Hopefully West and Catholic will do a better job in the future.

I agree totally, see topic "District 4AAA atmosphere". It is a joke and this is exactly the kind of apathy and attitude that you have in a tourist town. MOST everyone is laid back and just come and go as they please, except for the ones that have close ties to athletic programs, like parents, grandparents, coaches, and players. I can totally understand the Sevier Co. coaches wanting to have the tournament at their sight. It was there turn and you always want to play at home instead of on the road. Unfortunately, no one else gives a hoot, and they don't care what kind of impression is made...to bad for their own kids, of course they don't understand that.

I AGREE WITH THE DISTRICT 4 A TOURNAMENT THAT HAS TO BE THE DUMBEST THING EVER FOR A DISTRICT TOURNAMENT.

 

TOMORROW NIGHT THE BOYS WILL HAVE SUNBRIGHT AT ONEIDA FOR CONSOLATION AND THE CHAMPIONSHIP IS AT OS VS WARTBURG, THAT IS WHERE THE THROPY'S WILL BE HANDED OUT EVERYONE WILL HAVE TO COME TO OS FOR THAT AND PAY TWICE IF THEY WANT TO SEE THE CHAMPIONSHIP.

 

AND TONIGHT THE GIRLS CONSOLATION GAME IS AT COALFIELD AND THE CHAMPIONSHIP IS AT OLIVER SPRINGS, THEN THE ONES WHO WANTED TO SEE THE CHAMPIONSHIP, WITH THE SAME DEAL WITH TROPHY'S AND SUCH

 

SOMEEONE SCREWED THIS ONE UP BECAUSE YOU COULDN'T GET THE TOURNAMENT EVERY YEAR SO YOU BANDED TOGETHER AND OUT VOTED EVERYONE ELSE, "DUMBEST MOVE I HAVE SEEN IN A LONG TIME"

I agree! The fact that the district was held at Sevier County is a flat out joke. It is nowhere close to being at a central location. This is the most obvious homecourt advntage in the district. I am extremely happy to welcome Catholic and West to district 4AAA. It will make the competition more difficult. But atleast visiting teams won't have to fight the tourist traffic for over an hour to go play against someone in their own district.

Now District 4AAA did home sites the first round for a couple of years and that was bad. This all the throught the tourney is DUMBBBBBBER THAN DUMB. What were the coaches thinking here? Sevier county has been a bad atmosphere. Only a couple of games have had any good fan turnout.
