sorry khvol that i keep repling to you, but some of the things you are saying have no truth to them! those kids are not thugs at all, i know im bais to them but they are great kids! if standing up for yourself makes you a thug then everybody must be a thug in your eyes!!!!!!!!!!!!

You don't think that the two that were escorted out were thugs? No disrespect to you but those two are prime examples of thugs. Throwing things at players, hopping over the rail onto the court to celebrate a 4 pt lead between quarters, pants sagging, acting all crazy and pointing/taunting DC fans. If they really aren't "thugs" they should be in the movies cause they portrayed one very well.

But it's all over now, perhaps they just over reacted. ?? who knows.

In reference to your comment about Coach Real being owned by Mccord... TALENT also plays a part.... Dyersburg did not have the talent to play with DC last year or this year so if they (DHS) had been coached by the great John Wooden with Pat Summit as the assistant .....Dyersburg still would have lost....... Coach Real left because of a great opportunity and he knew what kind of talent Covington had coming back....also Coach R.... lost to Northside twice doing the regular season so .... his team is peaking at the right time......

So I don't think Coach McCord owns Coach Real... not yet let's hope they get to play a few more games with some talent on both teams and see what a difference coaching makes..... /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

congrats to covington and coach real. it was a well deserved win. i have much more respect for him than it appears from my post. i am suprised to see that you being 4DHS chose john wooden and pat summit instead of james 'the legend' counce and his son as your hypothetical dream coaches at dyersburg. i thought they took lemons and made lemonade. they probably could have came up with a way to beat mccord. anyway the choctaws live to play another game. we need to get our focus back and step up. the boro is awaiting

i think covington has the quickness to handle dc pressure and i say they will win this one by 8.

covington may be quick but last time i checked mccord owns neon deon in head to head. wasn't it three double digits losses last year when he was at dyersburg? coaching makes a big difference this time of year and we have the advantage. dc by eleven in this one

this really shows alot of respect.

the difference is that coach real will have guards that can handle the dc press this time. the way i see it is that mc cord has played about 6-8 games the past three years in which the other teams have had just as much talent and he lost 4 of those.

After looking at the game a second time it was really simple.70% of Covington"s baskets were in transition

but, when DC called off the press they took a two point lead at the end of the third.Covington just simply broke the press well.Second thing I saw was just dry scoring spells once DC went too deep off the bench along with some bench players getting exposed on the defensive end.Third thing I noticed was just the fact that CJ and REX spent a lot of time giving instructions and directing the underclassmen, while in the half court set, thus taking away from their own game in my opinion. Now as far as Covington's play they simply took advantage of DC mistakes, hit free throws and didn't turn the ball over so the best team that night won the game.

MAybe he chose wooden and summit because they are actually basketball coaches, and we are talking about a basketball team.... just a thought;) And if anyone doubts the Counce's impact on our program just come to our gym and look at the wall. Terrific coaches

Congrats to Covington and DC. I was always impressed by Coach Real when he was here. There wasn't a single time he passed a student in the hall without saying hello or good morning. He's a good man and coach. As for DC, if you can win in Memphis, then you can win anywhere! including the state tournament.

I was very disappointed at a couple of the DC cheerleaders and their 'sign language' blatantly 'flipping off" the Covington fans after the game. The girls were still on the court, in full view of everyone. It was a real shock to see their behavior. Those girls didn't seem to be thuggish at all-- maybe they too over reacted. I only wish I'd had my camera with me, that would've been a picture!!

    • Sorry Barn. I wasn’t specific enough. It seems I’m always protecting the principal at 825. My interactions with her have been extremely positive, but very limited. With all the other stories being told, I’m confident there are other sides I am not aware of. Regardless, there are lots of decent people earning good checks up there. Maybe too good, which explains why no one is willing to speak up. My beef is with the poor communication among the athletic programs and with the administration. Seven years ago the poor communication led to my son missing graduation due to a sporting event that was planned months before. I chalked it up to the system being totally shocked that the baseball team made it out of their district, and our then AD was a football coach. Maybe they were surprised and did not plan appropriately. That was more palatable than they just didn’t give a crap. Déjà vu, seven years later, same thing. Different administration, but same result.  Maybe in seven more years, it will actually be “about the kids”. They should do better.
    • That's a fair line. But if it's not over, that's a big problem.
    • RR, you think that changes this year, or at least improves? I know they had a couple of talented young receivers last year that made some plays later in the year. Defensive back was a struggle against any team that was above average at throwing the ball.
    • You would think they got a bunch of interest
    • You would think with football just three months away more would be talking. There's only so much a person can say about someone allowing the field to get painted without asking their boss who would have said ((((((((  ALE NO ))))))))) or all the other BULLS#!T they've done as they lead Maryville High into the new age of WOKE in a conversative town. I'm ready for some football news without hearing something coming out of 825 that Power Munger has done to cap off the week.
