McEwen vs Cornersville

Personally I think McEwen is not deep enough or strong enough to defeat the Lady Bulldogs of Cornersville...plus Cville already handed them a defeat of 22 pts around Christmas....so the pressure will be on the Warriorettes. Cornersville has been playing some really good basketball and I think they are gelling as a complete team at the right time! I would like to wish both teams good luck and injury free play....I would also LOVE to see our cross county rival....the Lady Bulldogs, make it to the 'Boro....Of course we have to defeat a really good Wayne County team ourselves....so the road to the 'Boro is not an easy one for either of us......but let's DO IT!!!!!!!

Good luck warriorettes...

I just want our girls to realize one thing... YOU WIN THIS GAME, JUST ONE GAME, AND YOU GET TO GO TO THE GLASS PALACE... something no one in the history of McEwen has ever done, boys or girls...

that being said...

LEAVE EVERYTHING YOU HAVE ON THE FLOOR, because for a few of you, this might be the last time you play...

LEAVE WITH NO DOUBT, give it your all, 8:00 a quarter, every quarter, every single possession...

BELEIVE IN EACH OTHER... it will take more than one or two players to win this game... you will need every player that steps on the floor to play above and beyond what you normally do

DON'T ENTER THE GAME NERVIOUS AND TIMID... play strong and act as though you have been in this situation a 1,000,000 times...

BLOCK OUT ON DEFENSE... this will be key in the minimalization of eazy baskets on the defensive in, as well as cutting down on their second chance oppurtunities

HANDS UP AND MOVE YOUR FEET ON D... minimize the visualization and ease of passing for your opposition

MOVE THE BALL, AS WELL AS YOURSELF ON OFFENSE... you can't expect to stand in one spot an get open, move, cut, and flash to get open, and once open "every player" needs to look for their shot first... it should go shot, pass, dribble...

Congrats Lady Bulldogs on making it to Murfreesboro! Sure would love to see you girls bring home a state! Also congrats to the McEwen Warriorettes on a well played game. You girls have really improved since the last time we played you. For those of you who missed this game you missed a good one! It was close from start to finish. Haley Fagen came up big for the bulldogs tonight hitting some key shots when it counted! Most important was Makenzie Hopkins with the free throws that sealed the game with 7 seconds left. Great team effort tonight girls! I think i speak for the communtiy when i say we are proud of you and all that you have acheived this year!

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
