Based on scrimmaging like opponents and the results of those games, wouldn't Alcoa have the edge? I know they are scrimmages, but I would think they would count for something.

 

I think Alcoa knows that rankings wont win you any games. It actually could fire them up more by not getting ranked than in getting so.

Coach Chunn, it would sure save a lot on transportation and ref fees if we did it that way! Might have have a great outcome, though!

 

Personally, I don't know how MJUHB does it. I can't even keep track of teams in just A/AA, let alone all divisions across the state. While he may be off on a few, I sure applaud him for his efforts!

I agree Big G. I too applaud MJUHB for doing a great job on the rankings. Amazing effort and it is a great starting point. Certainly sparks alot of discussion....but many take it way too serious. If you aren't ranked where you think you should be then that will change as the season progresses....if the wins come. Can't wait for the start of the season!

Two problems with A-AA.

 

1- Harpeth?? They got drilled by Hillwood. Hillwood!!!

 

2- Station Camp needs to be much higher.

Personally, I think that Ravenwood is ranked WAY to high...these rankings are questionable at best, but not too bad.

I remember someone proposed a mudwrestling match last year between coaches. Glad that didn't happen for many reasons. I appreciate the support from some of the coachT'ers for alcoa, and while I know my players do like to read the posts, they and I both know that this is like all polls, they are mostly for fun and discussion. Would we liked to be ranked higher? Of course, you love to have someone credit you for having a good program, but it won't win or lose a game for us and if we can work hard and post the results to deserve I higher ranking it will come. I'm sure the rankings at the end of the season in all classes will look much different. Always a few sleepers and perennial powers that struggle.

Alcoa and Carter have like opponents in the preseason, but neither have any in common with Seymour. Seymour's was tough this year.

I would agree with this statement.

 

In Seymours' defense, while they had a poor outcome in the Bearden scrimmage, at least they had the guts to play a team of that caliber (and Oak Ridge and Mo West). I applaud them for beefing up their schedule.
