Baylor #4 in the state, West Knox #6...what happened to all the D-1 teams??? I think this is showing excellent growth in Lacrosse in the State of TN! Way to go guys!

What happened with CBHS, Houston, and Franklin? I thought these teams were building for great seasons based on their records from last year. I reside in franklin and try to catch some of their home games, I heard some mutterings of coaching issues, but I still thought this team had some gusto to at least be .500 this year. Thoughts???

I'm assuming you're talking about statewide laxpower ratings or something. These rankings are systematically flawed early in the season as the sample size for games is quite small. Check back later in the year and you'll see more of what you would expect.

Coach Bloom has that Baylor program really headed in the right direction but right now laxpower is giving both Baylor and West Knox a lot of credit for blowing out start up programs. On the other hand, CBHS is being penalized for a loss to a quality St. Marks team.

So far to me it looks like this year is shaping up like most others. To me, McCallie is the front runner right now with MUS and MBA chasing them. Looks like Ravenwood and CBHS right behind them and then everyone else. Doesn't look like any DII teams are ready compete with the top half of the DI schools. Baylor may be close, who knows.

Looks like in D2 that the west maybe a little weaker than the east and central. April will be interesting when the east teams start playing each other and a team like Baylor has to play Centennial and JP2.

Right Now looks like 4 good teams in the East: Cookeville, Baylor, West Knox, and Webb-Knox

Central looks like Centennial, JP2, and Ensworth will fight it out.

But it is still early.

D1 looks like the same teams are dominating.

McCallie looks like the frontrunner in the East with MBA right behind or maybe just as good, followed by Ravenwood and Farragut, it will be interesting to see how good Farragut is.

The west looks like MUS all the way but Im sure CBHS and USN will improve as the season continues and it will be interesting to see how newcomer Brentwood does.

I believe it will be interesting to see how all these teams like baylor west and webb knox that played blew out the first year teams playing against other teams like centennial and jp2. from the looks of Centennials schedual they have played D1 teams that are in the middle pack of maybe doin something in D1 but no other team really has pushed themselves vs. tougher opponets thus far like centennial.

    • also was told coady auston applied, he served as defensive coordinator for greenfield under don pitt several years ago before going to Obion county
    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
