Given that it has been an interesting season for 6AAA baseball, any thoughts or comments on the upcoming district tournament.

Soddy Daisy vs Central

Ooltewah vs Red Bank (last years classic matchup)

Soddy over Central in game 1, I think it was 3-0 with McWilliams throwing a 1-hitter. Soddy looked flat after being off for awhile, but McWilliams kept Central in check.

Red Bank and Ooltewah, once again locked up in classic. Ooltewah was up 5-1 and still batting in the top of the 9th when the rains halted play. Ooltewahleading 1-0 after 6 1/2 walked in the tieing run in the bottom of the 7th. In the bottom of the 8th Red Bank committed cardinal sin #1, the first out was made at 3rd base when Bales was waved to 3rd on a lead off double to right field. The right fielder from Ooltewah made an outstanding throw to the cut-off man for an easy out at 3rd base.

Central beat Soddy tonight 5-3 on only 2 hits-ugly ugly ugly Congrats to Cental Series now tied at 1-1.

Ooltewah sweeps Red Bank and is playing inspired baseball and looks like the champion.

That was a cardinal sin late in the game. They seem to make a lot of those at RB. Does anybody else see the decline in that program or is it just me? From what I have heard and they are banking on a group of 8th graders to be the saviors there next year, I think that is a big mistake they might help some in their new district but against SD, Ooltewah, McCallie etc they will be over matched. They players at RB this year were brow beat so much they lost the enjoyment of playing and that is a shame. I think there will be more hard times next year if things don't change

you know the bad thing is that there is an umpire on here calling people DA. Hate to say it but your the DA and you are a very bad umpire and maybe you should stay off coach t and leave the coaches and kids alone rabbit. you know who you are catsbackr. get real with your self and find something better to do. thanks and good luck to all the teams

Ditto......I know that if an umpire has such an attitude on here with a short fuse I can only imagine what he is like on the field....besides I thought 'catsbackr' was through w/ high school and on to bigger and better college ball.

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
