Impact VBC Summer Camps

 

Here are some Individual Summer Volleyball Camps Impact VBC is doing.

 

Impact Volleyball is holding a FREE camp for MS and HS players. The camp is a Faith Based volleyball camp headed up by USC Alumni Dave DeRocher and Impact Volleyball Director Jay Golsteyn. Dave will explain how to bring Christ into your Life by shutting up the excuses and beginning to serve God thru the game of volleyball. The camp will consist of Volleyball Skills Training as well as teaching Life skills. Dave is a youth minister and his Ministry is called Shut up and Serve.

Volleyball All-Skills Camp hosted by Page High School, led by Troy Helton

July 8-10, 2009

 

The All-Skills Camp is designed to give girls entering grades 3-12 a challenging experience based on their skill level. With the focus on all aspects of volleyball, training groups are established that ensure the camper of instruction within their skill level. This camp is a must for players of all skill levels trying to brush up on fundamentals or learning the game for the first time.

 

3rd ??“ 8th Grade 9:00am ??“ Noon

Our ???juniors??? camp is fundamental-based with an equal emphasis on learning proper techniques and enjoying the game. The Page High School volleyball team will assist the head coaches during camp and serve as mentors to the younger campers. All basic volleyball skills will be covered, including: setting, serving, passing and hitting.

 

9th ??“ 12th Grade 1:00pm ??“ 4:00pm

The high school camp will focus on all aspects of the game with special emphasis on skill development by position. Our experienced coaches, working within their area of expertise, will train each camper to make them better individual volleyball players and competitors. Advanced hitting, passing, serving and setting skills will be taught along with special offensive & defensive formations.

$50 before June 19th

$65 at the gym

Coach Helton has had tremendous success in coaching the sport of volleyball. For all you 12, 13, and 14 players in the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade and in Catholic Middle Schools in Nashvile and are of that age, the schools play school voilleyball in the Spring instead of in August and September which the Middle Schools do outside of Nashville. A lot of these are Private Schools and are not in the TSMSA. Since volleyball in the Age group took a BIG jum in this age group this year, most being out of the City, it could be an effort be taken to find some way for the schools to enter in some arrangement of Middle School Athletics to compete. Certainly TSMS rules do have a maximum number of matches that can be played a season, but it is very minimal and the JV matches a season can be almost placed in a thimble. It's obvious that young ladies have an interest in volleyball in that age group and at mininum, a couple of extra tournaments through out the midstate would be in order. This is likely something that might be of interest elsewhere in the State.
