Alex Huddleston, a sophmore with alot of potential, hit 11 home runs on a state championship team. As far as not throwing one of your runners out all year, I don't remember anybody on mt. pleasant's team stealing many bases. I would take him over any of Mt. Pleasant's catchers anyday.

Not wanting to hurt anyone's feelings but it's very difficult to evaluate the 1A high school position players based on what they do during the high school season. While it may or may not be fair the 1A players (unless they throw 90+) must prove what they are able to do during the summer league competition. The professional & D1 scouts want to watch them play against teams like Dulins Dodgers, Murfressboro Diamondbacks, Hit after Hit, The Yard, etc...

Besides Summertown, who won state in 1A, and Columbia Academy who lost in substate, several players off the other 1A teams in southern middle Tennessee played summer ball for Columbia Post 19's Jr or Sr teams. The Jrs won state for the 17U American Legion and the seniors didn't for the first time in 5 or 6 years. Those 1A guys are playing on a pretty decent summer ball team.

nothing matters about single a. it's the worst possible competition ever. even the best catcher in this league is the worst anywhere else.

Mikey Minor played 1A ball. It's not the size of the dog in the fight dude. It's the size of the fight in the dog.

On a percentage basis, having a larger player pool to pull from should, by logic, produce more players that can play, but schools are classified purely on enrollment rather than ability. You can't really compare the 'competition' based on such. The better 1A schools can beat 3A schools. Especially if Mikey Minor is on the bump.
