Per the extensive high school baseball coverage of the Tennessean, Cascade beats Huntland 7-3. These teams finish the district season 13-1 (Cascade) and 9-5 (Huntland).

Eagleville beat Forrest at Forrest 1-0 in an 8 inning classic. Both teams had runners in scoring position at least 4 times but both starting pitchers responded and got out of it each time. Eagleville's starter gave up only 1 hit. The Eagles drew a walk and then a single and drove the winning run in with a sac fly. They finish tonight at home for the make up game for the rain out against Forrest. With 2nd place wrapped up they will likely pitch several pitchers to save their arms for the District Tournament and will host for at least the 1st round. This should be a great tournament. While Cascade has found a way to win several close games just like last year with solid play defensively and timely offense, MTCS, Huntland, Eagleville and Forrest have battled all year long. It won't be a cake walk for any of them and all of these teams are capable of winning it. Wow if you love baseball your juices should be flowing.

I heard from someone that Forrest's starting catcher quit the team last night. No comfirmation though.

The starting catcher did not quit, he is injured right now, however two senior starters quit after senior night on tuesday. Forrest is down to twelve players on their roster but is still running strong with a 15-1 win over eagleville in the 5th inning.

In the Wartrace bracket: Cascade defeats Boyd Christian 12-5. (Boyd has a couple of good looking players and seems to have improved throughout the year.) Forrest tops MTCS 10-6. Forrest jumps out to an early 7-2 lead. MTCS scratches back to close it to 7-6. Forrest scores three in the top of 7 (2-run dinger by #9 in the 2nd and a 2-run dinger by #26 in the 7th). This sets up an elimination game between MTCS and Boyd. Cascade and Forrest will play the winners bracket game.

 

In the Eagleville bracket: Eagleville cruises past Community 11-0 and Moore County narrowly beats Huntland 5-3. This sets up an elimination game on Monday between Community and Huntland. Eagleville and Moore County will play the winners bracket game.
