Munford vs. Hardin Co.

I assume you mean the week after Hardin? Wasn't sure if you were jumping to the week after Millington or not. It will be hard to say when it comes to teenagers and how they react to the previous week. This team understands that they may not be the MOST talented on the field but I think they will certainly play hard. Millington is loaded (yea, I know they lost twice but those two were terrific teams) and so Munford would have to play above their heads with some help (turnovers, penalties, etc...) to typically win this game.

The real question is how will Millington react if they have problems with Bartlett? Shouldn't happen but that would be a blow to the confidence. I still believe Millington is the best team but losing 3 or barely getting by a team that was beat by Brighton might be an issue for them.

But for now the real focus is Hardin, you can start the thread next week for that game.

Can't you guys see what MarkH is doing. He is trying to get Munford's mind off of HC and on to millington. Lets go cougar fans, get you heads back to where they belong, on this week's game, a district game, against HARDIN CO. There will be plenty of time to talk about millington after we win this game. Coach Saunders will have the boys ready to play and I expect the cougars to show us how good they actually can be by getting rid of all the mistakes and putting the ball in the endzone when they have the chance. If the cougars play mistake free football I don't think HC will ever really be in the game because they won't be able to move the ball against the "stone wall" defense that Munford has become. I pick Munford by two touchdowns, but it could end up being more.

Blacksox, I am not doing anything. I just raised the point that if Munford WAS looking ahead to Millington then Hardin Co might just smack them in the mouth but then again they might get smacked in the mouth anyway.

All things being equal and no disrespect to the Hardin Co. team and fans, I would rather Munford win the game and come down to Millington next week 3-0 full of confidence. It would make for a much more interesting football game. Nevertheless, good luck to both teams this Friday.

Ok MarkH. The thread started heading in a direction that I didn't think it needed too, but if that was not your intent, then I apologize for the accusation.

Where getting close Munford fans, just one more day before Friday night in Munford, I can’t think of any place that I would rather be. The atmosphere at Cougar stadium was electric last week, and I’m looking forward to more of the same this week.

    • One school has said it, it was York…who Oneida and many school that played them before we did claimed that they were the dirtiest bunch they’ve played. Riverside didn’t call us dirty nor did smith after they beat us. Ur only dirty if your the one giving out the whoopins.
    • If it was anyone but #8 I would agree with you. Theirs a couple people on that team that probably would. Not him. And I who was standing on the 1st base line fence saw clearly that the boys foot was covering more than half the bag.
    • If y’all lose to Farragut something awful has happened.
    • Get him to Bearden ASAP! Or anywhere, Karns hs is in rough shape, probably not getting out of it anytime soon.
    • I'm not a Powell grad.  I am a Bearden grad.   My son and daughter are Powell grads.   I did radio play by play for Powell, my last year was 2013. I also did radio play by play for South Doyle, and my last gig was at Maryville before I retired.   My oldest grandson plays in the Karns Middle program, so I see more Karns games than I do Powell these days.  I've been to 3 Powell games since 2013.   I don't have any ties to Powell, haven't since 2013.   No "y'all" there.    And the kid you are talking about does have a very good arm, but he's not the QB that Deuce Rogers is.  Rogers is a legit dual threat guy.  The younger kid now at Clinton, or about to be at Clinton, isn't the dual threat that Rogers is.
