Anderson County vs Karns

Of course Karns and any other team that plays AC has a chance to win. The question is the probability or likelihood that it will happen. In this case, it's not probable. Karns was able to exploit an aspect of Powell's defense that is, by contrast, a strong suit for AC. Also, I could be mistaken but I don't think Karns has a potent running game, which is what has caused AC the most difficulty this year. Hence, despite d123's attempt at stirring the pot once again, the facts just don't support his analysis.

Stirring up the pot once again huh. Thats a good one. And the facts do support my analysis, AC has no running game, Look at the stats, and their defense gives up big, look at the stats. Yea im stirring up the pot alright, ill really be stirring up the pot week 10 buddy, u aint seen nothing yet. I hope Karns runs through AC, if that happens you will be the first person i let know about it.

Touchy, touchy. Your pot-stirring propensities are gloriously evident in the ridiculous post you created entitled "Powell coaches cry." No other Clinton fans got on your bandwagon which must have left you feeling awfully lonesome.

Has AC needed a strong running game to defeat opponents of the caliber of Karns? No. Has AC utilized its strengths to defeat those teams? Yes. Is there any basis to believe that AC would need a strong running game to defeat Karns? No. Did AC's two losses come against teams that primarily pass the ball? No. Did those losses come against teams that have balanced attacks with pretty decent running games? Yes. Does Karns have a strong running game? No. These are the reasons your statement about AC's supposedly porous defense and your hunch that AC will likely lose to Karns lack any merit.

One of the first rules of logic that you need to learn and understand is that correlation does not constitute causation. Another way of expressing your logic problem is that you rely on the fallacy of the consequent. Hence, merely to mention that AC's running game is not strong does not lead to the conclusion that AC might lose against Karns. Rather, it simply belies your animus toward AC and your HOPE that AC loses.

I have not said unequivocally that AC will defeat Karns, although I do think that will be the likely outcome. Nor have I said that AC will defeat Clinton. On paper, that would not be the likely outcome given that Clinton has a very good running back and a good OL.

And finally, I ain't your buddy.

O no it looks like I have made Mavmaximus up set on a coach t board :popcorneater::motorbike:. my bad buddy. Im sorry for thinking Karns has a chance to win, i base my theory on the powell game when AC should have lost but was lucky cause powell's coachs blew it for em. And i happened to like my post about the powell coaches cryin, when i heard about that I thought it was very funny how they acted after getting beat. If ya got a problem with it dont read it, and if u dont like my thoughts about a topic dont read it. ok BUDDY. :motorbike: O YEA, THERE WAS A CLINTON FAN THAT AGREED WITH ME BUDDY :motorbike:

No matter how much you try, d123, I ain't ever gonna be your buddy. :motorbike: And it is understandable, given your short and unillustrious presence on coacht, that you have misunderstood me. I don't get upset; see: :popcorneater: It's all good. But I will continue to point out your lapses in judgment and obvious dearth of critical thinking skills. Although I do genuinely feel kind of bad because it's like shooting the proverbial fish in a barrel, even though you are quite the moving target, injecting, as you do, new prevarications every time you post. So riddle me this, where did I say that Karns didn't have a chance and that I sought your apology for "thinking" that? You don't owe me any apology, as once again, it's all good.... :motorbike:

Mr Maximus,

I thought the way a guy promoted himself on CoachT as someone with a brain was to break out some stellar football knowledge. It sounds like you've got that knowledge, but who could really tell what the heck you're talking about without a Webster's dictionary? If you were some brainiac from Oak Ridge I could understand why you might think you were so much smarter than everyone else, but for the benefit of the rest of us illiterates from Karns, Wartburg, Chucky Doak and other locations with lower average SAT scores - why don't you just say what you mean in as simple a manner as possible? Think "less syllables".

I'm just funnin with d123. :flower: And I would never presume to be smarter :roflolk: than someone from Karns, Wartburg or anywhere else for that matter. But I get your point and will henceforth (oops) endeavor (double oops) not to get above my raisin'.

So does AC use a 4 man front on defense? Much blitzing? Good, bad, mediocre secondary?

In case any OR posters are tuned in, I hereby promise that I will not imply, declare, or attempt to provide documented facts that the AC d-line is anything but a determined, death defying, and ready-to-be-deified group of stellar young men!

Let me see, yes, no, good. How's that for being monosyllabic? We do use a 4 man front as a base with a LB making a 5th on occasion. We don't blitz a whole lot but we do use the DE's to stunt on occasion. The secondary is quite good and fast.

Did the OR fans say those nice things about our DL?

I've read on here that Karns' OL is small -- true? Was the Halls DL able to pressure Boden? How are you guys against the pass? Here's to a good, clean, hard fought, injury free game.

Sort of. It got so bad so fast I got numb and can't remember. You're not going to pass are you?

I wouldn't count on most of those OR fans to say much good about any aspect of the other team; they generally seem to be too busy getting offended if you don't view every aspect of their team as unparalleled!!!

Here's to a good, clean, hard fought, injury free game. - I like this approach.

    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
