High school senior Aric Simms, known as the team motivator, saw his first action in the final home game of the season last Friday night (October 23, 2009). In a game against Harding Academy, the Jackson Christian School Eagles ended their regular home season with a win. But the real winners that night were the fans and the truest example of sportsmanship I've ever witnessed. Note the first person to congratulate Aric on his touchdown. In case you miss it, it's a guy in the other color jersey.

Thanks for posting. I had heard about this, but glad to get to see it. With the "sometimes negative" things on this board, it is refreshing to see what true sportmanship is all about. The Harding coach and players showed a tremendous amount of class and will remember this play the rest of their lives - you may never know how many people you really touched through this act of kindness.

Coach Derrick, his staff, and the players from Harding are class acts. This was a great reminder that kids learn more than x's and o's from team sports. Thanks to everyone involved.
