HDIK.

Good to see you on a GC thread again.

No use trying to make your points here. Its like talking to A ROCK. :hungry:

Some nuts cant tell the difference between true factual info and trash talking. You get

that when you wear the rosey glasses though.

Man you can tell a Giles County fan...............But YOU CANT TELL THEM MUCH. :hungry:

I think you are close on your prediction,I just dont know who will come out on top.

Giles MUST slow the ground game of DL and the Mustangs must do the same. I dont

see the Bobcats having a big night through the air.GC needs to stay balanced though

and take the short routes and screens to open things up.I would run a lot of option.

My question is will the Bobcats d-line,or the Mustangs O-line have the better night?

Howdoitblow(and it blows hard) & Mikesinh+ll(cuz his former coaches couldn't make him a hero) The only thing DL supporters like the two of you are hanging your hat on is schedule. Neither team had any idea how good or bad the competition would turnout this year. Not due to any of the Bobcats fault did some of the teams on their schedule not live up to previous billing. So unless you Mustang Faithful can find something better to hang your hat on its gonna be a looooong friday night for you in Pulaski.

Hey Ionlygotonerock, No one ever said it was the Bobcats fault that their schedule was weaker. It's the TSSAA's fault. No one is blaming them. So you are saying that a tougher schedule doesn't benefit a team in a big game?

Don't get me started on the Giles "faithful". I'm really going to miss arguing with all of you "faithful" next year on here. I'm pretty sure when your family ties to the team are cut you won't care about posting or much of anything to do with the Bobcats anymore. All except for Oldman, he'll stick around since he really doesn't have a family connection to the team. As for me, i'll be just another hobo with a laptop on the square with nothing better to do than surf Coacht all day.

Outside of Stratford the Mustangs have not played a team that is "weak" by any means. Giles County has played Marshall County, Lewis County, Hickman County, & East Hickman. All of those teams provide no test for Giles. The Bobcats have not been in a real test other than the season opener against Cookeville and their win against Page. I will be interested to see how they react when the team on the other side of the field doesn't just "fall to pieces" at the sight of them :ugeek:

So what is your prediction?

Howdoitknow picked Lipscomb 24-22.

Lil mikeyloosechell, I've been a Bobcat Faithful long before you were a sparkle in #62 eye. I even cheered for you, always thought you ran very precise routes. I've been posting before you even played varsity, my old id got bumped in coacht's upgrade. What you might realize is that just because you post doesn't make you one of the faithful. Let that angst go, and another thing, Don't be so sure WOMG doesn't have a boy on the team.

Yep Chevy. Been a Bobcat since 1971. Don't have a 'boy" on the team but I do have kin, lol. Been there for 38 years so you are right. I'll be there. Thick or thin. Other than 71' through 75', its as good as its ever been at Giles. 71' - 75' was a different era and style. As long as we can keep OC & his staff the days of a 1 hit wonder are over. Life's good! The future looks good. I still look bad. So, some things change and some do not ,lol. GO CATS!!!!! :ugeek:

Why did your name get bumped on the upgrade and no one elses did? Can you explain the name you just gave me? I was a little slow in picking that one up. Good point about the posting not making you a faithful though. Sorry about the whole blaming people for not being faithful, you calling me a Lipscomb faithful just kind of got me riled up a bit :roflol:

Getting back to the game, I think that the offensive key in this game is going to be Houston. The Bobcats will need to establish the running game if they want to win. They will still pass no doubt and with success, just not on the same level as they did in other games this year. Lipscomb has an extremely tough secondary and always have. I see OC lulling them to sleep with Houston right behind the tackles and option with Wallace. Just when he has them where he wants them expect a big playaction pass. Defensively, just try and slow down Officer and the run attack of Lipscomb.

My old id password was sent to an email adress at a company where i used to have wonderful dial-up service, and did you really check with everyone else to check if they got bumped or not

As far as Lipscomb goes...there's a lot of issues there...the whole public/private thing, the interception called off last year by a ref that was 50 yards away when it was confirmed by 2 much closer, And the Coach Mac Groupies....you know who you are, we all know he is a fine coach but the man love for him is almost at a silly level. While Giles, agruably has its best team ever and one of its best seasons ever and on the other hand DL struggled most all season, Giles gets little respect when it comes to this game.

So join me Mike...jump on board and pull for the cats WIN OR.....THAT BAD WORD.

Now its time to bring in the HEAVY WEIGHTS

"Calling Bomb Squad and Eddie Haskell and the Gang!"

Its like saying Beetle Juice three times.

Thanks for thinking of us vandy. I am the only one that is able to make it though, because Eddie van halen is playing a heated game of paper scissors rock with jettjuice27, and bomb squad is trying to difuse the situation

    • I've always been a football fan first and then if you have a band that's awesome. No question that DB has one of the best bands in the country and the whole region should attend at least one DB game just to see their band. I don't know if Nick Saban could come to Kingsport and build a football program that could match the Dobyns Bennett band's success. That said,as mentioned before, a couple of things would have to change in order for the Tribe to just win a state championship on the field.Besides a program that starts from the peewee teams and goes all the way to J Fred with all coaches and weight training { in time }on the same page. Sometimes it also takes a little luck like the 1998 Vols .There are a lot of great athletes at a lot of big schools around the state and just because you want something doesn't mean your going to build a program like Alcoa has. Yes,start at the bottom and have guys that are quality coaches teaching at every level is 100% the first step. Parents can make it a lot easier by getting their young athletes into an early start with conditioning and weights as well when they are old enough to lift.If your son is a man in the weight room before he gets to DB , then it won't take a "Dobbs" coach to make him competitive against other schools athletes when it comes to strength.
    • Dyersburg scrimmaged South Gibson last week
    • A complete cultural change happened at Greeneville and the administration and community opened up their checkbooks.  What a lot of people don't know is Ballard was Zeller's OC for many years and stopped coaching for two years because Zeller and Ballard didn't see eye to eye on some things.  Zeller lead Greeneville to it's first ever Semi Final appearance in 2000 and lost 28-12 at Maryville and had them in the Quarter Finals in 2002 and 2003.  Z was a great coach but lost some control when it came to making workouts mandatory. (He learned from that Mistake and it was at LC when i coached with him.).  Z was let go going into my Senior Year and was replaced by Steve McCurry who was the one that turned the program around.  Steve had won a 4a state championship at AC Reynolds in Asheville and made the administration completely redo the weight room with new equipment, had a football period at the end of the school day to lift, started devil camp, and brought in coaches like Danny Bentley (Still the OL coach), Ballard as the OC, Cody Baugh (QB coach and still there), and even Spradlen who is Greeneville's head coach now as the DB's Coach.  McCurry only coached for two seasons at Greeneville and took a team that had a losing record the year before and finished my Senior Year making it to the Quarters and having a 10-3 record and then followed it up with a Semi Final appearance the next year with an 11-3 record and back to back conference championships.  Loved McCurry to death but the recession hit and the story i heard was he was still buying new equipment for the team that the Principal didn't authorize and his response was "I don't answer to you and only to Niswonger and Bewley" (Two huge donors).  That was it for him and they Promoted Ballard shortly after that.   Greeneville had always been relevant ever since the the late 70's under Coach Fred Sorrell's.  Since Sorrell's took over in 1977 Greeneville overall winning percentage is over 76%.  The biggest reason people might not have thought Greeneville was "Good" until Ballard was Greeneville always played up Classification wise and could never get over the hump. (When there were 3 classifications we played 3a, when it went to 5 we played 4a).  Greeneville is the largest its ever been with 953 students and where playing teams 2 or 3 times there size back in the day (I had a little over 800 kids in the school when i graduated in 2008).  Other teams always would know they would be sore after a game but depth took over and never won a Championship until Greeneville played in the classification the TSSAA actually assigned them. You had names like Dustin Moore (1993 Mr Football for 3a and who Phillip Fulmer said was one of the greatest athletes he ever recruited), James "Mud Turtle" Mayes, Brigham Lyons, Byron Gillespie, Frankie Debusk (National Champion Qb at Furman with GQ), Jasmine Lowery, Cody Baugh, The Greenway Brothers, Joe Watson (Furman), etc.  Now the cultural is from the Pee Wee league up and you grow up as a young kid wanting to wear the Greene and White.  Here is a really good link when it comes to anything Greeneville Football related. https://greenevillefootball.com/   I also don't coach anymore.  Z told me i was to smart with how the school systems are ran these days and ended up going into real estate in Knoxville which has been a great decision for my life.
    • Yes, they will. I'm wondering what kinds of strides Sale Creek will make heading into the second season under Coach Fitz.
    • No yellow stripes on the rug last night. Biggest crowd I’ve seen at 825 since the alco debacle.
