Lee Atkins Resigns at Franklin County

Head Coach Lee Atkins has announced his resignation at Franklin County. Any thoughts on who the next coach should/might be?

Atkins said he and his son were leaving to coach together at another school.

I have heard 3 names. former Moore Co coach McCurry, former Huntland player and current AC at FC Jim Carr and the head coach from Eagleville, Carson. All three FC natives. The next hire will be someone with FC roots.

Great coach, too bad for his family, he lost his grandson on Thanksgiving.

I think he got fed up with some folks downtown. They cut his salary and he told his assistant coaches wants to coach with his son.

The new DOS will not allow family members to work in the same school.

He won 4 games this year but was less than 10 points from going 8-3. They gave Columbia a race in week ten and overall the team seemed much better than the previous 3 seasons.

He will land somewhere this year and may already have something in the works.

Jim Carr should be the next head coach.

Well this is the SECOND good Coach they have run off in less than three years. Folks there may want to ask some questions before they run off a third.

 

First was Steve Britton and now Lee Atkins. Hopefully this will NOT follow either coach as they do not deserve FC failures as a reputation. They are both too good of coaches for that.
