What are people's opinions on how this will turn out?

My favorite has got to be Christian Brothers. Although this may not be one of their better teams they can get it done with a bunch of great shooters and a point guard who runs the show effectively. They beat MBA and Father Ryan both this weekend by 10 points Also other teams I believe that could make a run at the championship are Ensworth and McCallie. These two teams have already played a good game with Ensworth coming out on top but I feel that McCallie has a lot of growing to do and has a lot of potential.

My top 10 are

1. Christian Brothers

2. McCallie

3. Ensworth

4. MBA

5. Briarcrest

6. Father Ryan

7. Brentwood Academy

8. MUS

9. St. benedict

10. Baylor

Players to Watch

Christian Brothers- Boughner- great shooter with size and above average athleticism

McCallie- Price- highly touted young player with great strength and scoring ability inside

Ensworth- very well rounded attack but i will be watching the inside combo of McFadden and McDermot

MBA- proven group of seniors but to make a run sophmore Howard and Blackwell need to step up

Briarcrest- have not really had a chance to see them play would like info on them

Father Ryan- as it always is with Ryan defense is the number 1 priority but they will need shooters like Coursey and Rohling to be knock down

Brentwood academy- Garlington- speed speed speed. this kid is extremely quick and can blow by defenders with ease

MUS- also have yet to see play

St. Benedict- guards that can score effectively

Baylor- lost a lot after last year but need players like Born to play well

This should be fairly competitive especially from the top 7 or 8. Any thoughts on teams or players would be appreciated.

Updated Power Rankings:

1. Christian Brothers (1)- close loss to Germantown but still feel they are the best team

2. Ensworth (3)- win over mccallie and continuing to beat opponents big

3. McCallie (2)- close loss to ensworth moves them down but they still remain a clear third

4. Father Ryan (6)- with a win over Franklin they move to fourth

5. MUS (7)- are continuing to win early in the season

6. MBA (4)- I'll keep them sixth but back to back losses has them looking like they are struggling

7. St Benedict (9)- a win over Ryan moves them up over the week

8. Baylor (10)- two narrow losses keep them from being perfect

9. Briarcrest (5)- Playing lots of games and play good ones and bad ones

10. JPII (NR)- a great win over Centennial gets them in the top 10

Drop Out: BA (7)- I'm Sure they will be on this list eventually but early in the season you need a win to be on this

The league will be very competitive this year. I know BGA has two big guys but neither seem to be dominant. MBA and Father Ryan seem to be really deep if you watch them play or see their box scores. CBHS has started the year great and could make a run deep in the playoffs. Ensworth as always has some athletes but their two post are very talented. My prediction for the final four would be MBA, CBHS, Father Ryan, and McCallie

I like Ensworth over MBA and Ryan but they are very closely matched. They will all start playing each other here in early January. Ensworth puts out a 15 man rotation almost every night but their main point guard is a freshman named Cornelius Elder. Very athletic and talented for a freshman but has a little bit of an attitude he needs to work on

I have to disagree, I think Ensworth is very talented and deep but MBA has a core group of players that are phenomenal together. Paslick and Mobley are excellent players that usually lead the scoring columns in the paper along with help from a solid bench. Ensworth has some big guys but neither seem dominant. Ryan is also looking decent, they have played some tough games and seem to keep it pretty close according to the paper. Scoring is usually very rounded between Coursey leading it follwed by Clifton and Rohling and Kincaid. I also would like to mention that BA could also make a run in this division behind strong play from a very talented guard.

I think it is a very talented field out there and it all depends on which teams find their chemistry. For ensworth their post man Daniel McFadden is the leading scorer so I would say that he is pretty dominant.
