what do you think?

Redbird,

I think it's the same every year on CoachT. No one from our district ever has anything to say.

Hope it's out of respect for the others in the district. But I think that they just don't want to get involved. We'll see.

This is like preseason NCAA Football predictions, who the heck knows till the boys hit the field.

For what it's worth:

1. Columbia

2. Shelbyville

3. Tullahoma

4. Lincoln Co.

5. Franklin Co.

6. Lawrence Co.

* Won't miss the drive, but I sure will miss Coffee Co.

After doing some research and hearing some news I heard last week, here is my prediction for the 2010 season.

1) Columbia

2) Shelbyville

3) Franklin Co.

4) Tullahoma

5) Lawrence Co.

6) Lincoln Co.

Columbia has too much depth and pitching.

Shelbyville has three good arms.

Toss up between Tully and F.C. Tully has a pitcher that was 84-86 at a camp a couple of weeks ago and F.C. was young last year. I know Tully returns a lot but they return a lot from a team that won 6 games last year. I am not sure if returning a bunch of guys from a bad team is a good thing or not.

Lawrence gets the nod over Lincoln strictly because of Bosheers who may be the best player in the district.

Lincoln doesn't haave much coming back but, honestly, I haven't hearn much from them so far to make a fair assessment

I'd have to agree with you, but I would give Tullahoma the edge on F.C, they played well this summer. You may recall them hanging with the Columbia Post team over the summer several times.

As a newcomer to this district I am ready for the games to start. I need my baseball fix. Since I am not familiar with the teams yet. I would like for maybe someone from each school or someone who is in the know, to give a little capsule of each team's strengths, who to watch for and any info that someone who is not from that town may find interesting. This district in the past has always put out outstanding talent, I am sure that is still the case.

This year will be interesting. No doubt Columbia will be the team to beat behind Keeton. Shelbyville lost their defense with one man Cooper (nobody put the ball in play). Another team that will be interesting to watch is Lawrence Co. losing 7 starters. Bosheers from Lawrence Co. is as sure handed a shortstop as you will see in the state and a very good leadoff batter as well. I honestly believe that second place in the district is up for grabs by every team except Columbia who will win 1st.

Also, Keeton from Columbia is the best player in the district if anyone.

What makes you so sure about that? They both are very good players but if you think Keeton is the "best player if anyone" then you haven't seen Bosheers play enough. I think those are the best two players but either one could be argued as the best.

Keeton is very good but my vote goes to Bosheers. Bosheers can do it all.

    • Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. I wrote about many of the issues here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/11/17/grounds-for-investigation-and-suspension/ I interviewed Winfree after she was dismissed from the team and wrote about it here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/12/01/a-new-interview-with-sable-winfree/ Winfree had been on teams in Warren County since the fourth grade and never been dismissed from a team. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
    • What is the hold up here? I have not heard anything in weeks. Are they waiting for the right person or is something else going on?
    • Per usual, we'll be hard to beat in the regular season, I'm sure. It's the post season that I'm more worried about, specifically the coaches. Maybe they'll be able to make some adjustments that will keep the momentum in our favor. How's Grays recovery coming along?
    • Something don’t add up here a college coach is not going to turn away a good player they need just because they didn’t get along with their high school coach
    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
