  1. Lawrence Co. got it handed to them tonight by Summertown 9-0. Summertown came out hungry and Lawrence County got outplayed and outcoached. The players did not look ready to start the season off. Hope this isn't how the whole year will be or else lawrence co. may be looking up from the bottom of the barrel.
  2. I have to say this is the most boring 8AAA thread for any sport I have ever seen. Usually baseball is cut-throat. Where are all of the arguments guys. Come'on
  3. Lawrence Co. has to be mentioned in this post. If you are a star player you struggle the student section. They will get in your head and you will hear it until you step back on the bus to go home. For a High School event it is a freak show. And they travel well. Just ask any 8AAA team!!!
  4. Scratch that. District 8aaa.com is not helpful in this. Sorry about that
  5. Thanks dad. My high school career is almost over but I think big sam might be interested. I have a bracket but I can't post it. If you check out the district 8aaa website you might can find it there but I don't know that for a fact.
  6. The winner of Shelbyville and Lawrence Co. will play Columbia in Columbia on Saturday. The loser will play the loser of Franklin Co. vs. Lincoln Co. Sunday in Franklin Co. The winner of the Columbia vs. Shelby/Law Co. game on Saturday will not play again until Monday in Franklin Co.
  7. Lawrence County's Dylan Bosheers is batting over .550 this year with 4 HR's. He is one of the best SS's in the state and probably the best in the district defensively.
  8. Lawrence Co. won 10-2 last night. Play Lincoln Co. again tonight at home.
  9. As a huge fan of Lawrence Co. Basketball I am sad that this didn't happen this year because it will be my last year here in High School. Our Student Section would've loved the opportunity to harass the kids from both north and south. O well. Looks like I will make some trips home from college to see those games.
  10. Lawrence Co. for sure. Everybody leaves the gym with their tail between their legs knowing that they just got whooped.
  11. I agree that they take the brightest, but the best? Come on now Alabama,LSU,Tennessee,Florida,USC,Texas,Oklahoma,Notre Dame, and etc... take the best. Let's not stretch it to say he had offers from all of these schools and he took the one from Citadel. I know you didn't say that, but that's what it sounded like. Citadel is great academically but atheletically they are not. Therefore they are not the best.
  12. Both Columbia and Siegel have extremely large lineups. Siegel has to 6'9 guys and a 6'6 PG in Kerry Hammonds who is absolutely phenomenal when on. Columbia has a couple of guys 6'7, 6'8 and up. Columbia also has a great scoring PG in James English. I know the Memphis teams are favorites but Siegel and Columbia cannot be looked over.
  13. They didn't. The girls lost to Lavergne who at one point this season put on a 23 game win streak. The boys won the district and lost to Siegel by one point in OT. Both Siegel and Columbia (who the boys beat twice) made it to the AAA state tournament.
  14. First off you have only see us by twice..and I'm guessing that those were both Lawrence County games. Yall are AAA and we played with you, until your guys pulled away in the 4th. That being said Tyler Rice is our best player and our leader, but we have other guards that are more than capable of scoring. Our last 3 games have been total team efforts with Rice leading us. We have had 5 players in double figures too. Parrish, Brantley, and Austin Rice have been playing great. Go Wildcats!! Well freak, You didn't hang with LC through three periods. LC has had the game in the bag by the 2nd period one game and halfway through the third another. I did come watch Wayne Co. play the regions and I still stand by what I said. They have other guards but if Rice ain't hitting then none of them are hitting. This Wayne Co. team will not make it if they run into a post prescence (which they eventually will). Sorry Wildcats, but yall are about to be tamed.
  15. I have seen Wayne Co. play twice this year and the way to beat them is simple. You play Rice and let him take his shots, he can't score every point. He shot very well in one game against Lawrence Co. but as a team they are not one. Very easy to get in their head if you have an opposing student section. I don't see this Wayne Co. team making it past this first game.
  16. Lawrence County's fan base is one of the best in the state. Starting from one of the best student sections in the state all the way to the alumni that come to every game. LC might have the best traveling fan base in the state without a doubt.
  17. Lawrence Co. will start out with Wayne Co. on Monday. Then they will start the Loretto St. Patricks Day Tourney later in the week.
  18. Congrats to Columbia. They have had a great year. I also want to say Congrats to Siegel on making it. What about Lawrence Co. lost by one in OT to Siegel and beat Columbia twice this year... Would've loved to have seen three reigion 4AAA teams in the state but not all dreams come true. Good luck guys and enjoy for this may be your last DANCE.
  19. It seems like the Siegel coach is running on straight athleticism. LC hung in that game for forever and didn't have 1/4 of the athleticism and potential Siegel had. A better coach and that team could be getting talked about all over. Not just this thread. If the LC coach had that team I would look out. Coach Clark is one of the best coaches you will ever see in High School basketball.
  20. Yes I will be there. It is baseball season in Lawrence Co. now as well as Giles Co. Sorry before I get bashed for getting this off subject, but this is all in good fun.
  21. Columbia does have the athleticism to guard Hammonds. They are the only team that can guard him when he is feeling it. I think Parks can guard Hammonds on the top of the key and Harlan? I think is his name can guard him down low. If anybody can take on the extremely athletic Siegel team it will be Columbia. Lawrence Co. played well. The shots didn't fall and that will beat LC every time when they can't shoot. Don't be surprised when Columbia comes out on top.
  22. Well, I am not involved a whole lot in AA basketball, but I have seen Spring Hill play at Lawrence Co. They played a very good Lawrence Co. team very close. Spring Hill is one of highest jumping teams I have ever seen. I'm sure they have gotten better at shooting by now. I have also heard that Kedron Johnson plays basketball the way it should be played and that is one thing that I love to hear. My prediction is going to go to Spring Hill. Even though Spring Hill beat them in the last meeting it still holds true today that it is hard to beat a team three times in one year. With that being said this might not be the last time these teams meet And this is coming from a unbiased Lawrence Co. fan.
  23. That's not true. To be the best you have to beat the best. You can play the A and AA teams but they must be the must be some of the most respectable in their class. By playing the average run of the mill teams you boost morale but you also gain nothing but a W against a nobody. That means nothing to the Blackman's or Riverdale's or Oakland's. If you schedule tournaments go up there and play them. If you are good enough then you will play them again anyways.
  24. Coach T has the Columbia vs. Oakland score being 74 to 70. I know one thing and that is that four great teams played tonight in Shelbyville. The regions couldn't have been better. One OT game and another that was very close.
  25. So I take it they didn't do so hot. Well Tuesday night at 6 LC plays Siegel If you wanted to you could mosey on towards Shelbyville for the game. That said I have heard hype on this kid Kedron Johnson. Any Marshall Co. people how good is this kid and what about his game is so good?
