District Brackets with 5 teams

How does it work for establishing the brackets when there are

5 teams in a district? Does 4 and 5 play for a spot to play against

1 and then 2 plays 3? Winner of 1 vs (4 or 5) plays winner 2 vs 3

and losers play each other for district 4th and 5th place?

Not quite sure how it works?? Anyone know?

FL. OH for goodness sake, after hearing all of the football playoff balleyhew, just talk to the coaches of the 5 schools and let them work it out. They already know the dates. Too many hands stirring the pot makes a bad stew.

With 5 teams it will look like this:

 

4 and 5 will play - loser is out

 

Winner will play 1 while 2 and 3 play each other... at that point it becomes a 4 team double elimination from there

4 and 5 play a play-in game. 1 plays the 4/5 winner and 2 plays 3, but at no point in the post season is it double elimination.

PH, not trying to stir the pot. I have no interest in bothering the 5 coaches

with my musings. Just wondering how it works. I already know the dates.

#1 gets a bye and plays the winner of 4 & 5 and 2 plays 3 with the winners playing for championship. So really 4 and 5 are playing to get in because only championship game and consolation game advances.
