Practice when out for snow???

I know most school districts have their own policy on this. I know Franklin County has a policy from the new director of schools that says no team may practice if there is no school because of bad weather. I really feel bad for their girls' basketball team as they have not practiced since last Saturday and then had to play Columbia in the District tournament last night (and lost). But, how is it that the baseball team who has not even started the regular season, much less the district tournament, able to practice everyday? There seems to be someone over there that thinks the rules do not apply for them. Practicing during dead period and now going above the DOS and not following School Board policy.

But it's not "dead period" for baseball. However; if it's your school's policy that you CANNOT practice if school is out, then you have a legit point. Are you sure it's not more of....no practice unless coach says practice is still on for those who can get here? I know we were out for snow, but the baseball team still practiced.....but coach made it very clear that if you couldn't get there for bad road conditions, call him and it was okay. At that point though the roads weren't that bad here..... :popcorneater:

No, I understand it is not a dead period because of snow. BUT, they had a volunteer assistant practicing and giving instruction during the "TSSAA dead period." Apparently this guy thinks he is above the rules. Neither the boys nor the girls basketball team practiced during the days they were out for snow because that is school board policy. God bless them being in the district tournament and following the rules. Unlike the baseball team doing whatever they want.
