Really I know I took teasing too far at times. Many posts over these past 7 years or so were not necessary AND YES riddled for what may have left much for the imagination. As a result, I have had some moments of self reflection and even real purpose in some of my past posts, esp. lately... reflection anyway.

First, congrats to walkenvol and his add'l piece of highly regarded hardware and not the last one forsure. After approaching Tim and seeing that anxious and stunned look after all of these years, I decided to formally request forgiveness for things i may have done or said to offend. This should also be extended to anyone else including those mighty BC Bear supporters as well.

Second, kudos to one of the noblest acts I have seen in recent years. This goes to Seymour coach Alex Cate and his choice not to allow another unnecessary DQ and impact a young man's pursuit of his dreams! This involving Kennedy's controveral claw/throw against Joe wissell in the quarter finals.

Finally, thanks to all of those that sacrifices so much for TN's greatest sport!!

......and I thought the Saints winning the Super Bowl was a sure sign of an impending world apocalypse. Now this. A completely readable, understandable and intelligent post by Sommers. we should all start hoarding food and guns.

Soms - The jury is still out on you but you are correct, the Seymour coach should be and needs to be recognized for his decision.

For all those that missed it......Kennedy was wrestling Seymour's 189. Mike picked him up and slammed him. It WAS NOT an illegal slam IMO, but it was a hard slam. The ref dropped to the mat and began to count backpoints. The ref recognized the wrestler was hurt and stopped the match for injury time. He then signaled the slam was illegal. I repeat, he didn't call the slam illegal when it happened but only after the match was stopped. The Seymour wrestler couldn't continue which be rule means Kennedy is DQ'd. At the point when injury time expires the coach has the option to forfeit the match instead. He did this and has earned my respect forever.

The ref, on the other hand.............

There may be witnesses of both Hamm and Jones kssing Seymour's coach right on the lips. As a matter of fact, big Bill Kennedy's embrace may have cracked a rib or two. as afar as my intelligence, it took me some 2000 posts or so to spit this one out and maybe as many as Tex23 has to begin to mirror what BB enthralls us with.

Seriously though, I felt humbled being at this tournament (although half the normal attendance) and seeing guys coaching, reffing, administrating or just watching, etc., for some 45 years+ of service for our great sport, I must say thanks to jim Morgan and his sincere concern for others,,, even it it meant his own Baylor or UTC boys may face a disadvantage down the road. Thanks, coach Morgan!!

    • Im asking everyone to keep roy whited and his family in your prayers. Coach whited won back to back state championships at white county in 98-99. He is very well liked and respected in this area. For those of you that dont know he went missing 3 days ago. No one knows where he is. His truck was found in a rural part of the county. Thanks again. We are all very concerned.
    • West would be a good team to get behind if they can pull it off again like last year. That championship game last year was awesome.
    • I say that because he stepped out of a MUCH better situation on his own than he would see at least his first 3 years at DCA and it would take at least that much to bring him back to coaching. There are other fish in the sea, but again money talks. Need to fix the girls hoops too. Now I'll try again. Who has Pierce locked in for his staff? Hearing a McGavock man but not the Iceman.
    • I’ve heard mostly good things from the gridiron. Lots of optimism. It sounds like the portal has mostly helped, though there are a few expected defections. Comeback year!
    • Rudesell 1 year at Crockett. Coach Tate 2 weeks a Bradford. South Gibson supposedly going with jcs middle school coach. Which isn’t who I thought would get it, I know the top 2 was between him and Obion girls head coach.
