Sorry for the tough losses!! Congrats Cannon and Upperman on a great season. 8aa refs can take alot of the blame for Uppermans demise. They let the lady bees get away with reaching, moving screens, and heaven forbid them call a foul on Dyer! These young ladys get acustomed to that style of play, then get a curve thrown when the calls are made. Hearld Citizen reported today that the fouls were 22 to 2, in favor of Polk 17 of 19 free throws made, and it reported that it was odd for a team that normally doesnt have foul trouble.(thanks again to 8aa refs)!! Two times this year the fouls were that lop sided in LA/Upperman games in favor of Upperman(the two they won) Cannon and Upperman had very good teams and made a good run, the seniors will be missed by all our district!! Hopefuly we will have a fair competitive district next year and send two teams to the borro!!

The article also mentioned 11 of Polk's FT came in the last half of the fourth quarter. Up until then they'd had 8 attempts by no means out of the ordinary.

I agree on the moving screens, the bad thing is in the region games you're supposed to see referees from outside the immediate area and they still weren't called.

The article in the Herald-Citizen is obsurd. Ridiculous. But anyway, congrats to 3AA on their wins. I thought that Cannon County played really well, but when Taylor King fouled out things went away for them. She is a PLAYER, and I love watching her play. For Upperman, I'm glad to see Dyer had a good offensive output, finally. I hate that she didn't see more of the ball all year, but when she got the looks she needed, she made them. Great player that seemed to be undervalued. Onto boys action and AAU for me. Good luck.

BTW: Polk isn't weak. McMinn is not what they were, but they win. Good luck, but the champions are still the champions until someone proves otherwise, GIBSON COUNTY.

    • It is what it is. Sorry DFL.
    • One of the biggest loosing teams in Mid-State are the Macon County Tigerettes. I have noticed that the roster is smaller than in the years past. All the senior's have quit. We have a great group of Jr High players coming up. I sure hope they don't loose them, like they have lost so many others this year. With this young group of girls coming up, a weaker district, they should have no problem going to State.
    • It was updated this season, because I did it.  Linder is the school's all-time leading rusher at 5,156 yards with 2,436 of those coming in 2014.
    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
    • You really mean the Price twin boys and Lyin Larry.
