Cheatham County Charter

I hear the school board is considering a Charter School for the kids in Cheatham County. Supposedly it will be an athletic charter school, only allowing kids in who want to play sports. Academically inclined children can either go to Cheatham Central.....which is changing its name to Cheatham County School for Arts and Entertainment and Deer Skinnin.........or to Sycamore HS which will henceforth be known as The Polytechnical Institute of Sycamore International School for the Really Smart People.

 

Harpeth will remain Harpeth, but specialize in Bus Driving.

 

Any truth to all of this?

I wouldn't put anything past the people up on that hill these days. Maybe the county commision will just build a downtown "Cheatham County Stadium" and we can name it "Ralph Spangler Field/Stadium/Dome". Afterward maybe the county commission will fork out the $$$$$ to build a new "Cheatham County Gymnasium" and we can name is "Tim Ray Hall/Court/Arena". They can also build new baseball, softball, soccer, track & field, & newly added rugby facilities. Maybe volleyball can get their own arena this time since according to the someone up on Stratton Hill "if you ask the school board they will gladly provide you with a facility". I think somone has been watching Field of Dreams way too much lately..........either that or they are just lost in the corn field

Harpeth is seceeding Cheatham County and joining Dickson County since we don't matter anyway.

not only school board screwed up its everyone down here!talk about building a stadium haha thats funny,even if you were serious it wouldnt matter,because the other people on the hill wouldnt give you a permit!!! the excuse would be it may flood one day!!! besides all the revenue from the permits may have to go to building a new gym or pay for some teachers salary.everyone in charge in cheatham county should be fired!!or voted out!!!!!

One of the members of the board told Sycamore's boys basketball coach at the meeting to "talk to your county commision if you don't have facilities available" when the argument of boys & girls having to practice at different times came up. It seemed a bit ironic that another member of that same exact board was griping about the same thing just last fall when soccer felt like they were getting the short end of the stick by having to share a field with football. News stations from all over Nashville/Middle Tennessee came to CCCHS when that got brought up. Interesting..........

Vanderbilt has now also signed on to be governed by the Cheatham County School Board........citing in the Tennessean,

 

"We don't win either......and obviously Cheatham County is headed in that direction. Their taking point in the new High School destruction program (its an Obama thing......you wouldnt understand) has led us to believe that the powers that be in the Cheatham County Central office........sober or not.......will lead ourselves and all of Middle Tennessee into the............what century is it?"

 

Official spokes person for Cheatham County School System.......Transportation Director Hopalong Holliday said, "Thanky much"...............then he ate a biscuit.

Hey Howdy: Sounds like you and Francis and others are having a tough time with the "hill" people. It appears you do not have facilitys/space for all the athletic teams.

don't be thinking you folks in cheatham county got the corner on quality education! us folks in hickman county won't be out done. just read in the hickman county times where the director of schools has done announced that east hickman high school will be renamed east hickman a & m.

 

he stated that the school needed to get back to its roots of growin things and building fine race cars. he went on to state that due to not meeting AYP goals (that's annual yearly participation)the school's punt, pass and kick team would be disbanded. which is a shame cause we were gettin reel good at the puntin part!

 

he went on to tell folks not to worry about the beeeutiful facilities goin to waste cause we are gonna take our part of the race to the top money and build a monster truck-tractor pull course on the field and build a proper bank in turns 2 and 3 on the track so they can run without restrictor plates when they host go-cart races on friday nights

we sure do! got to protect our women folk and youngins' from them carpet baggin' scalliwags and outsiders! we been pretty successful in the MMA with our women's senior mee-maw division, our youngins' ain't much on contact yet.
