Ravenwood and Knox Catholic played to a 1 - 1 draw. Interesting game as Knox had a big disadvantage in size and speed, however, played their set pieces very well. Their goal was scored about midway through the first half off a corner kick finished by Herrera crossing the face. A mistake by the Ravenwood keeper as he should have been out to contest. Ravenwood settled in late in the first half and began to control tempo and their size and speed began to show. Half ended 1 - 0 Knox. Second half belonged to Ravenwood who seemed to wear the irish down. they were noticably quicker in all aspects. Ravenwoods Saunders delivered a beautiful ball inside the 18 to danny lee who finished making it 1-1 with about 35 mins left. several opportunites for ravenwood after that but they failed to capitalize.

soccerfan... does your boy play for Ravenwood? or are you just new to soccer? perhaps it was your first game?

From a non biased perspective: I believe the first half went 65% irish to 35% Ravenwood... The second half there was definitely a momentous swing for Ravenwood probably 65 35 once again. multiple opportunities for both teams

It is the uneducated report of people like you that gives coacht a bad name... Catholic is obviously superior to Ravenwood.... Catholic came off a brawl with hendersonville and then a semi difficult match against gallatin... Ravenwood should be more than thrilled to come away with a 1-1 tie... Ravenwood on the other hand played a young Mcminn team and then after a struggling father ryan squad... believe it or not there is more to the game than just the game...

We will see what happens in state... should Ravenwood advance

Excellent tournament, 3 top 25 overall teams. Highlight of the weekend will definitely be the Hendersonville vs. Father Ryan game. How will Gallatin and McMinn Co. fare? Will Ravenwood prove that they deserve to be ranked?

Any opinions about weekend? Based on scores and games I saw it is hard to tell about any of these teams. The only thing I could tell was that Catholic can play with these teams, I had doubt before tournament, and the other is than no one can beat Farragut. While these mid state teams have good quality and depth they can not match Farragut's quality in numbers.

Gallatin 6

Mcminn Co. 0

This was a very nice game to watch as a Gallatin fan but I felt very sorry for McMinn County. They lost two players in the Hendersonville game the previous night to a broken leg and a separated shoulder(neither intentional, just both players challenging hard). Hopefully they can regroup and get back to level they would like to be playing at.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
