terop
My question would be....Where is Telvin James from Clarksville Northeast. In my opinion he was the 3rd best guard in the state next to Jackson and Chris Jones...
twinwildcat
I was disappointed with the selections to the Division 2 all-state team. I felt that Division 2-A got too many honorees (9) compared to Division 2-AA (5). I feel strongly that Division 2-AA teams are across the board much better that Division 2-A teams. Ensworth, if you look at their body of work over the course of the entire season, was prolly the best team in D 2, both classes, yet they got no one on the team. Daniel McFadden was very deserving (27 points in state semis), as was Connor McDermott and Corn Elder. Weldon Garlington of BA is a great player. He deserved it too. I'm the father of an MBA player so I'm not tooting my own school or kid.
graceseeker
I agree with the Division II analysis. I guess it's impossible to see all the teams play so judges rely on points per game and they really miss the kids who really understand the game and really excel at all of the aspects. How can Ensworth not have a single player? That's a joke. Considering MBA's run and certainly Mobley had a tremendous amount to do with it but it wasn't a one player team either. h2odog
I don't understand either.....especially why St. Georges' would have 3 and Ensworth 0. Don't know the players, so I'm not saying they are not deserving. Same with MBA. Some of it can be a "body of work" ie. strong player for several years. If it is like Girls Soccer, which is where I really come from, the players are nominated by the coaches. If he doesn't serve a name up, they can't get a vote, or if each school nominates 5, obviously we can't have 25 winners. So the voters must choose from their best guess and the ones they have seen. Or at least one hopes that's the case. Maybe someone can tell up how they do it for boys basketball. I don't think there is a regional bias in the voting, but it is tilted to the west this year. papadoc
Listen, there are so many arguements to be made. My main arguement is WHERE IS COREY STANTON, I mean come on and, I also agree with the Telvin James. Also the class 2AA is jacked up EJ Perry did not deserve it and neither did Rob Poindexter. I can think of alot more players to put in their spot but, the facts are that that is the all state teams and, there is nothing you can do about it now!!!!!!
