I have seen it all...

Names and dates have been ommitted as to hide the identity of the parties involved. Except mine, of course

During a recent match, one of my bench players witnessed one of the opposing bench players wandering around behind our goal. At first glance, it appeared as if he were going to shag, but I had my bench taking care of that, just not letting them linger around back there distracting the keepers. Then, after the next ball went over the touch line, we saw him snatch it up, pull a pump out from behind his back, and start to air it up. Then, he walked casually around the far side, and did the same thing. Then he waited for the one on the field to be knocked out, and finished them all off. Now, I guage my balls before every match. We use Brine NCAA Championship balls. (2 of them require 6-8psi, and the other 11-13. One was made in another country as the other 2)

Before the game, the officials checked all three, and said that they were fine. At the half, we expressed our concern, as the balls were now like rocks.

I am not sure if they ever said anything to the other coach or not.

The next night, at another match, I mentioned it to the two ref's before the game, just to see what their take was on it. They were really not cool with that, and said that it would have been a card offense for sure. I wonder what it would be? Dissent? I didn't let any air out, but I will next time.

Just thought I would share, as I have not been participating as much this year.

Good luck in the rest of all of your years!

That is pretty wild (calling it Ballsy is just too easy). I guess since Law 2 states that the ref must inspect the ball(s) prior to play, it would be dissent if a player altered one without approval.

Some would also opine that an over inflated ball is dangerous especially for headers.

    • Good ole Bradley Zulliger. He was a really good QB @ OR. Fun to watch.  Wore #15 and was like a mini Tebow, with the exception of being right handed. He could take a pounding and keep on ticking. Played with a collapsed lung against Powell that year. Tough as nails.
    • They should be pretty good in year two for Rang.  Replacing most of the offensive production losing Dozier, Hayward and Rembert , but they're are skill kids in place ready for their shot.  I know I say this every year, but the o line should show improvement after two years in Rang and Kevin Day's weight program.  I still would favor West over Plow and OR come November.  The Rebs will have to grow up a bunch between now and then, and will probably take some lumps along the way with that schedule.  But I predict come playoff time they will be ready.   One of their coaches half joked to me that they could go 5-5 regular season and win the state championship.  Ha ha.
    • there will be a couple of teams, that could make some noise
    • Dyersburg may win back to back to back championships. They are going to be hands down the best 3A team. Plus their District/region/sectionals are not very good. They basically just have to make it to region out of a 5 team district that has a few decent teams. South Gibson will be okay but they graduate their best player and there is nobody in the region 7 or region 8 who is going to compete with them.
    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
